Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

A couple of months ago I went to MEL from CBR for a family funeral on QF. Two of my cousins flew CBR - MEL on Virgin. Their flight was extremely late and they were very annoyed because after it was delayed on the ground for ages Bill Shorten got on. They were convinced the flight was held for...

    Secrets of travelling light

I can do HLO within Australia but throw in the LAGS restrictions and I have to check my luggage. I find I can fit an almost unlimited amount of clothes in; it's toiletries, shoes and electrical stuff that is hard to restrict.

Checking in for QF93 - what's the earliest time?

Hmmm decisions, decisions. Thanks everyone. It is nice to experience First check in but then again it's nice to get the luggage checked through from CBR. Fog shouldn't be an issue in mid November.

    Worse than feet on bulkheads

At risk of getting myself banned for life from AFF I put my bare feet on bulkheads. However, I never walk around without shoes, my feet are clean, tidy and well groomed and don't smell. So as I don't touch anything but the inside of my shoes with them, or use them to use toilet paper (now...

Checking in for QF93 - what's the earliest time?

There's probably some information on this somewhere but I did a search and couldn't see anything so please, oh wise and regular contributors here at AFF, please excuse this lapsed participant and allow me to ask a question :) We're flying QF93 in J on 17 November and being double WP like to...

Actor Michael Caine reveals a secret

We don't have separate bathrooms but I've trained my husband to use the main bathroom toilet instead of the ensuite toilet 99% of the time :)

Travel insurance - optional or essential?

I use TID each time we go to the USA but when we went this year I was considering not bothering. Luckily I did take out insurance because at the end of the first week of a four week holiday in NYC my husband, who has severe myopia, suffered a massively detached retina and ended up having...

    Shipping shopping to hotels?

The last couple of years I've stayed at the same hotel in New York and have not had any problems getting stuff sent there. They don't charge anything and the last time we went we arrived to find we had, perhaps, been a bit too trigger happy on the purchasing and had a massive pile of boxes...

    Dash 8 seat selection

Living in Canberra they are hard to avoid. I was saying to husband the other day that we can never access anything forward of about row six even though we're both WP. They next day we OLCI for a flight to Sydney and were in row two. Back to row six for the trip back though. It doesn't bother...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I met her recently at a Westpac lunch. She seems like a very genuine person. I even have a photo taken with her :) (so embarrassing but husband insisted)

How long does it take you to start relaxing on holiday

As soon as I sit in my premium plane seat and get served champagne :)

Parents - what do you do with your kid's FF points?

My mother set up a QFF account in 2004 before flying somewhere. She had a major stroke soon after so they were the only points she ever earned. She's still alive but she definitely won't be flying anywhere ever again! I keep her account alive by having her Optus mobile account linked to it...

Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

Re: The totally off-topic thread Normie was just sitting on husband's lap, paws around husband's neck, licking and biting his neck. Weird. On the knife talk, we have a very expensive Japanese knife (MAC I think) and it has lost its tip, even though we treat it like it's a baby. Just a few...

Platinum - and it feels great!

Hahaha thanks everyone, I knew you'd understand! BTW I'm not hoping for op-ups but the points upgrade lottery. RedRoo, thank you I will pass on your regards to MIL. She is home now and happy to be out of hospital/rehab.

Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

I don't actually recall their story - I work at an animal shelter so we've fostered a LOT of kittens! They were our last though, after a very tough year on the staff because there were so many neo-natal kittens to bottle feed the foster care network was increased and a policy brought in that...
