Seat Selection: QF Metal, AA flight number

Hi @Thibault - thanks so much for your info and for the offer to call on my behalf. I got through without a wait on the US number (rather than the Australian one.) They were able to select seats on the SYD-LAX and LAX-SYD legs but had pretty shoddy availability of seats (I could see more on the...

Seat Selection: QF Metal, AA flight number

Thanks all. I’ve already tried both booking refs on both websites - neither work. Qantas premium call centre said they couldn’t. Haven’t had any luck getting through. SYD-LAX is on one of the old A380s. Would love to snag one of the F suites (they aren’t selling F…) Wonder if they would give...

Seat Selection: QF Metal, AA flight number

Hi all, I’m finding it impossible to select seats on upcoming flights to the US. It’s an AA booking, AA flight numbers but QF metal. My QFF number is on the booking. Can’t book through AA manage my booking. Looks you can through QF MMB but it doesn’t stick. Any tips? TIA

How reliably is Cathay Pacific at the moment

Hi all. How reliable is Cathay Pacific in getting back to Australia at the moment. They seem to availability returning from HKG to Australia in January for not-too-crazy prices. And the corresponding flights seem to be flying this month according to flight radar. But, I’ve read they’ve had...

    Flights from China

Hi everyone, I need to go to China for work in December and it seems the only options are the once-weekly flights: SYD-PVG with China Eastern and MEL-CAN with China Southern. Does anyone have any information about how many passengers these airlines have been able to carry back into Australia...

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

certainly didn’t work for me this week by calling up. It is a strange situation and the call centre operator explained that Qatar releases different award seats to different airlines. luckily for us, Emirates J and F seats to BNE suddenly came up so we’ve pushed departure back two days and are...

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

no - it’s for travel on Monday - getting back to Oz. Normally I wouldn’t even countenance the possibility of getting 2 J fares, but they display every day on that route on BA and AA for the rest of the month. Just in QF they’re only making 1 available. Oh well, it’ll be good to get home finally...

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

Interesting. I've just tried the search using a VPN to simulate purchasing form USA, Netherlands and France (I'm in the UK) but no luck ... I thought the same thing but, I did get the 1 J ticket that showed on QF put on hold for 24 hours. At that point the inventory on AA and BA went down from...

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

i doubt it. The pattern goes on every day until the end of the month. 2 seats in AA/BA, 1 on QF. The lady in the call centre told me that QR releases different award availability to different partners and lamented that we couldn’t just waitlist.

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

I feared that might be the case. It seems sort of illogical - this is for QR flights to Brisbane next week, where QF has 1xJ available each day the flight runs, and AA/BA have 2. Obviously there's plenty of availability and, at this short notice, surely they'd want to write of some of those...

Different award availability between OneWorld ff programmes: QF gets less!

I'm trying use my Qantas points get two, one-way business seats with Qatar from LHR-BNE. The QF site only shows one available each day whereas BA and AA both show two. I called Qantas Premium to try and see if they can see different but they see the same as me. My question is: is it normal for...

    Forward planning: mid-connecting in Frankfurt

It is annoying, as I already know a misconnect is a distinct possibility. An earlier flight from ARN would mitigate extra expense/worry for all parties, no?

    Forward planning: mid-connecting in Frankfurt

Thanks, both. It’s true, the connection is a bit tight for comfort. And even if the 60 mins is the official mct, experience says that it’s on the slippery side of unlikely I’ll make the connection. FRA can be a zoo. The next flight to SIN isn’t until the next morning. It’ll put a dent in plans...

    Forward planning: mid-connecting in Frankfurt

yes, I did try to change the first flight and SQ tried to charge a change fee. I protested and they waived it. However, because Lufthansa is the operating carrier for the first flight, an earlier Lufthansa flight puts the whole ticket in a different fare category ... more $$$€€€ So, I fear I...
