Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for uploading Plebstatus. I wanted to upload a pic, but I still haven't found a way to get pictures from my new windows phone to my mac (though to be fair I haven't done any research).
Anyhow, No bonus points for me.

Also a note on the rear of the card that cash out isn't permitted. So even at an inflated price, I can't see an easy way to unload this.
Could possibly use paypal money transfer? That'll cost 2.4%

So rough calculations for 10,000 point MR earn:

With local champ status you'd have to buy 25 of these. (can't recall what the max local status points earn is?)
25 x $5.95 = $148.75
If you can unload for 2.4%, that'd be 25 x $100 x .024 = $60

So $148.75 + $60 = $208.75 for 10,000 MR points & 10595 flybuys points.
That means you're effectively buying MR points at just over 2 cents each. But of course this isn't taking into consideration the difficulty of loading/unloading the cards. What is your time worth??

I guess if you really needed points for a purpose it'd be OK, but I certainly won't be buying more after this $5.95 experiment.

Im planning to offload my few at Aldi as they have a surcharge for credit. Wonder if they will offer cashout despite the terms. Not viable for me anyway without the bonus

Certainly no cashout was available when going through a coles terminal. I'd imagine it'd be the same for other retailers. Would like to hear of other's experiences as buying points for 1.48 cents is a more attractive proposition (especially considering how expensive it is to buy american points with the exchange rate).

I'm working on qf points via the Qantas amex premium, and for me, its not economical at all without the fb points. I have a rule of the maximum I pay for points is the maximum I can convert them to a cash equivalent for, in the case of qf that's wish gift cards at 2/3 of a cent per point.

That's fair enough. I was just thinking if someone say needed 10k points to make an award happen on SQ or something. Could be worth it then?
Anyhow, I won't be buying any of these cards..

Has anyone seen officeworks cards at supermarkets?

Ah yes, thanks, wasn't sure if they had fixed-value ones for just OW specifically, no problems.

There are Officeworks only gcs available. As a rule I prefer to get the Coles/Myer ones so I don't have to carry to many GCs at once.

Such as for Coles Express (petrol purchases with 4 cents per litre voucher), Officeworks, KMart, Target etc.

Ah OK. I have checked three Coles now and can only see the group ones.

One off $10 WW rewards rebate when you buy $50 of participating gift cards this week. The fine print is key here..

Will give the new Edge its first gift card purchase.

Watch out. It's not 10 rupiah, its 10 off hour next shop if you shop again before 16 Feb and in store only. Quite strict t&cs (as youve mentioned)

Process was less painful than it appeared.

Went to my local WW and got a few things. At the checkout, I first purchased a $50 Myer gift card on the Edge by itself and the $10 rebate was immediately available. I then purchased the remaining items and $10 was deducted from the bill. Easy.

I assume these are the cards people are looking for. Plenty at Coles Raine Square in Perth.

I finally got round to using one of the 'perfect gift cards' (they were on offer with 10x Flybuys at Coles in January) in Aldi. Worked OK for the drink I bought with no CC-surcharge. As expected not able to get cashout.

wondering if woolworths still stocks ticketmaster gift cards? checked perth cbd, vic park -no luck:)

At the weekend I spotted 'the perfect giftcard' EFTPOS card in BigW. Activation fee of $5.95 for $100 but presumably bought with a BigW discount eGift this could be a viable (though fiddly) way to get a small discount and 3 MR points per $ on stores that don't take (or surcharge) Amex. Won't work online and unable to get cash out.
