Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

No I was referring to grown-up brothers and sisters with genuine different addresses- each with 6 people in

TBH, I don't understand why people are so obsessed with family pooling. I can understand you can't transfer unless you have at least 5000 points. But that's not hard to achieve.

All you need is family pool only 2 of your that lives under the same roof then with this sign up bonus, you have 7408 miles. Then transfer 5000 out of this into your genuine relative who doesn't have to live in the same address. Then you will have 8704, then transfer this 8704 to another relative, you have 12408. Then transfer this 12408 to another relative and so on. It will snow ball to all your extended family, then transfer this whole chunk of miles (say the 17 X 3704) back to your account. Then you have extra 62968 miles in your account. More than enough for a one way business class to SIN with EY.

But let's say you live alone (in which case you shouldn't family pool cuz that's against T&C), it's not hard to earn the extra 1300 miles to make up 5000 for transfer. Fly VA BNE-SYD-MEL a couple of times, you have enough. Do some online shopping with estore, or even just sign up with digital post you get extra 1000 miles.

Agreed that family pooling is not necessary to consolidate miles-it's just one way of doing it. Your way is an effective way of dealing with miles in donor accounts that would be difficult to add to without flying.

Not sure which one is more vulnerable to an audit trail if people were silly enough to create fictitious accounts

Digital mailbox is a good tip too (my family all signed up and pooled already)

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

It won't be allowed by council. People might be doing it but there are restrictions on how many people can live in the same house. You can have 17 people live in the same house if the house meets the requirement for 17 (eg. It has the plumbing requirements to meet 17 people. So you will need at least 8-10 bathrooms for that and council rates will be higher too.)
Council? What a joke.

There were up to 30 people living in house next to my parents. Only 1 bathroom/toilet. Matresses all over the house, matresses in the garage and even matresses in the small shed. Music at all hours, shouting from the back door to the garage at all hours. Lease was for 4-5 people. Real estate couldn't care less and council cared even less.

My parents and my brother and I went through torture for 2-3 years. The law is on the side of creeps.

Apologies for going off topic but things aren't always that clear cut. And that wasn't the only time.

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I wrote my suburb on Line 2 of the address filed and selected Others on the dropdown-that seemed to work

What a rubbish website. They must have the same company develop their website as Velocity. Useless. I've tried just about everything, even selected a suburb in which I don't live, and it still doesn't let me save. Can someone specify which exact fields they have filled in - including which phone numbers.

I registered hubby on the 13th and points came through this morning, many thanks! We didn't receive any phone calls or follow up emails but I did set up his account with his passport details and linked it to his Velocity account.

All the miles have posted to my family's KF accounts now. Thanks Denali for reminding me to check

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Thanks for the reminder, Denali. I checked and my husband and sons' points were there but not mine, strangely. Two had Velocity accounts linked and I transferred those points no worries. The other two I hadn't linked because the closedown happened right when I was doing the applications, and I'm still unable to link them.

Were you on the Singapore site, tyring to link your KF account to Velocity? I couldn't get hubbys to link so I went into his Velocity account and liked to KF and when I went back into his KF account, the link was there and this morning I transferred the 5000miles to 3704 points pretty much instantly.

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Just had a call from SQ.

Very polite. Enquiring whether I was aware there was more than one KF account with my email address.

Explained that share email address with wife and children (true). Asked if I could give her the relevant KF numbers. Seemed happy

The points had already credited by the way

Suggests that duplicate accounts from same email are being targeted.

Call came from a Singapore number (+65) in case some peple are not keen to answer

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I got an email about an attempted call, im assuming its about using same email address, sent an email asking what its about. Might just ignore it. Only signed up 3 family accounts including myself

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I signed up a family member on 9 March. Single person. Everything went through and KF number generated.

Logged in yesterday and today and no 5,000 bonus miles.

Do I need to email SQ now on the address mentioned above to fix this up? Or are they working through memberships and will get around to us eventually?

Rookie mistake!!

Rookie mistake!!

Not a mistake at all.. He has been a VA member for 5 yrs and flown plenty of times and uses my email address. I don't think it is unreasonable for young children to use a parent email...The sign up for him was as per the offer from SQ..they gave me the points and they now reside in my VA account..

Same call for me today. Fortunately they can see my 4 yr old is booked on real flights and is a real person so no troubles with the call. She was very nice
