Passengers Kicked Off Flight for Ignoring Safety Briefing
Air New Zealand's latest safety video may be irritating. But as every airline reminds us at the start of every flight, it's important to pay close attention even if you fly often.

Two passengers seated in the exit row of an Air New Zealand flight have been booted off the plane after they refused to take notice of the safety briefing.

Upcoming Webinar:
Star Alliance for Australians
  webinar
For Australian frequent flyers, Star Alliance offers an excellent alternative to Virgin Australia, Qantas and the Oneworld alliance.

Star Alliance typically has far better award availability than Oneworld airlines on flights to and from Australia. This is matched by some extremely competitive award pricing with many Star Alliance frequent flyer programs. And it's not difficult to earn points and miles with Star Alliance airlines in Australia, including from credit cards and sign-up bonuses.

It's also surprisingly easy to earn Star Alliance status! Multiple Star Alliance programs offer free status matches, and several programs make it extremely easy to earn and maintain status from scratch. Some Star Alliance airlines also partner with Virgin Australia, meaning you can use your status benefits and redeem miles domestically as well.

The upcoming Frequent Flyer Solutions webinar will show you exactly which Star Alliance programs to join and how you can maximise the benefits. Be sure to join Matt at 8pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 29 May 2019 to learn more!

Resort Fees: The Fuel Surcharges of Hotels

Sadly, the hotel industry has started to adopt a similar practice. "Resort fees", as they're known, are now particularly common in North America. And they're a total rip-off. Some more...
The Ultimate Auckland Stopover Guide
Auckland is not only the main gateway to New Zealand, but also a common stopover point when flying with Air New Zealand between Australia and the Americas. Auckland is a cool city, and just on your doorstep you'll have access to volcanoes, beaches, wineries, national parks and even sites from the Lord of the Rings films. So it's well worth breaking up your trip by spending a few days in Auckland! Whether you're just in transit or more...
