Obviously won't appeal to everyone, but sub $5k for lie-flat J to Europe in peak summer is pretty solid, despite the less than ideal layover times.

Air India are in the midst of a rebranding effort, but the seats are still quite old, in a 2-2-2 configuration on the B787-8.

Other dates should work as well

2-2-2 but super wide, and no restrictive cubby for your feet!

If travelling as a couple, pretty good seats. As a single, passable, not the end of the world by any means.

We transited entered india at DEL a few weeks ago, the fast track immigration for business class wasn’t easy to find, but once we did, we were through pretty quick. Maybe 10 mins after arriving at the gate?

I suppose its one way to see the Dehli Sights

4pm to 2pm the following day looks pretty sweet

downside is the once per week flight connection to Zurich (although they do fly 3 per week)

PS the J flight Melb-New Dehli is $6,092 once more proving the point "Fly More, Pay Less"

the equivalent ex-Sydney is $4,876 (27 Jul - 26 August) & their Y fare is $2,747 - but not on a 747...

based on https://www.airindia.com/in/en/destinations/route-map.html Zurich might be a new destination ?
(as a point of reference Milan which is an existing destination is $5,811)

Flew Vistara long haul in J recently and absolutely loved it so hopefully AI lifts its game to that standard because the last AI long haul flights put me off them and haven’t flown with them since
