Pretty much! It's one night in a standard room at most properties, including Sofitel. There might be some exclusions but book far enough ahead and i've usually been able to make good use of stay plus nights.

I didn't prevaricate unfortunately.

I played around with a few other countries exploring pricing and got stuck in a loop where despite me selecting the Australian site and ensuring that Australia was my home address it wouldn't let me sign up anywhere other than Malaysia.

So - I am based in Malaysia - with an Australian address.

Went with 2 free nights....

I have just learned of Accor Plus (yes I feel like I have been under a rock lately travel-wise) and based on what I'm reading I think it would be a good investment for me, as I'm planning to travel to Japan and Fiji later this year. And I was eyeing off the Sofitel in Fiji anyway, so this Plus thing would make it that much better if I can get extra savings on stay and meals.

In fact it would more than pay for itself. Unless I'm missing something completely obvious?

A mate of mine bought it specifically for Fiji. Saved a fortune over a 7night stay.

50% off every meal. Plus a sizeable room upgrade on arrival.

I'm planning to travel to Japan

Just be aware they do not have a huge range of properties in Japan. I’ve stayed at Mercure Kyoto and Ibis Styles Nagoya and both were great - all Accor benefits provided with no drama at all.

They are growing with new properties and takeover of existing properties though.

Thanks for posting this, just signed up. A night at a Sofitel for $199 is a no brainer, everything on top of that is just money for nothing.

(I signed up as an Accor Plus member some years back when their family and friends offer was only $70. No free night but I had afternoon tea at the Sofitel in Melbourne with my father and that instantly covered my $70 making everything else for the remainder of the year a bonus.)

Am Hilton Diamond and have been Accor Gold, but the fundamentals of the free night are worth it.
