Yeah I generally use the Flagship lounge when connecting through as I mostly use AA - I actually find the mostly self service more convenient than the table/sit down/bar service at QF F. I don't think it's far from 6 where Alaska flys out of anyway (nor is QF F in TB really I guess).

Gold can access the present PAGSS (partner) lounge with +1 so long as your on OW or Emirates.. it's marginally better then just taking a seat at one of the cafes/restaurants in Terminal 3. It's certainly not a lounge you want to be in for any extended period of time.

Not likely a popular opinion but these additional point seat releases in the premium cabins hurt more then help actual frequent flyers versus those collecting points via any and all methods on the ground.. means far less opportunity for upgrades on purchased flights to popular destinations...

One option that's not at the mercy of Qantas lounge staff knowing the rules and guarantee comfort for when layover is extensive is to purchase an AA onward flight.. refundable option of course.

agreed on the flights, all went smoothly on my end completing the 200 SC’s with just the 4 sectors and only weather related issue on 1 of them ADL to MEL. completed it a few weeks ago and still showing as Gold but it states I have completed enough to maintain status so expect that to stay as is...
