Update: with VA pointing me to SQ and SQ telling me to buy a cash fare for the infant, I've just given up and booked a cash fare for mum + free infant direct with VA. I will just cancel mum's SQ KF redemption and be done with it. Lesson learned.

Interesting to see that Y class seats are showing on LM if I search individual segments: MEL/BKK and then BKK/LHR. But when I do the search on MEL/LHR nothing shows. LM just shows the "more fare options" button on the segments so they are not offering the TG J award inventory still. KF...

My original question is, why is the J award availability on UA bookable, but not seemingly showing on either KF or LM? UA used to be the worst of the programs as you generally got the scraps from what showed up on KF or LM first. This seems to have reversed for some reason?

Correct. There is plenty on UA. I have a bank of KF miles I want to burn on star alliance rather than on SQ metal, yet no star alliance inventory seems to be showing, yet appears/bookable via UA. I have already booked 2x seats via UA. Wanting to do the rest via KF rather than sourcing more UA...

Oh really? I went onto KF to check. I put in some dummy dates for MEL/LHR in J on the KF search and nothing came up in June, July or August 2022 let alone Dec/January 2022/3. I went as early as next month (April 2022) and still nada on KF.

UA isnt the problem, it is KF that is not showing any star alliance inventory. Its showing up fine and bookable via UA no problems.

interesting to see that TG award seats are coming up on LM in class Y, but not J. A similar search on KF yields the same result with no StarAlliance options in J or Y. This perhaps says to me that SQ is trying to get people to burn miles on SQ metal rather than on a fellow star alliance carrier...

SYD-LHR Dec22/Jan23 Quite wide open dates - UA showing up to 2-4pax per flight combination in J. Nothing showing on KF/LM - only UA. I might try it and see what happens with UA, its cancellable after all. UA never got advanced access, if anything it was LM that had about a 30 day advantage...

Does anyone know the reason why TG award inventory is coming up on UA but not LM or KF?
