Qatar transfers are a big win for me. It not only opens up Iberia and BA, but also some of their non-Oneworld partners such as Aer Lingus and Avianca which aren't accessible via Qantas.

Bit late, but for others on here... I believe check-in closes T-90 minutes I like to arrive 2hrs 30mins before, bag drop-off generally takes 20 mins, security another 20 mins, then boarding starts about T-40 mins. This means I usually have around 1hr floating around.

The issue I generally have with married segments is the opposite. SYD->HKG only available by changing in MEL. MEL->HKG only available by changing in SYD. Seriously, can I not just fly direct from somewhere?
