    Bonus 50% on Travel Voucher

I reckon unless they get into a bidding war all airlines will be keeping fares up to recoup their losses. Buckleys of fares to London not much over $1000. Probably $1500 at least. Thats when things finally open up. Could be 6-12 months before its possible or worthwhile travelling over there...

    Bonus 50% on Travel Voucher

Got an email from Etihad offering a 50% bonus on travel Vouchers bought between June 10-24th. So buy $1000 get $1500 worth. Valid for 2 years. That seems a good deal, but are they just going to bump fares up? Will it be valid for any fare (I've not flown with them before)? I tend to fly by the...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Another problem with this is whereas if you bought your fare early you might have been covered (by some travel insurance policies) for a cancellation due to corona, when you rebook a flight now you might not.

No, but I can take on a wheelie and a day pack and get some heavy item I have in the wheelie. Wont get to 23, but more than 10 so that should suit me. Only thing is there are multiple airlines on these routes which is why I asked the other question about who determines the weights - the booking...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

I'm not sure if that's correct because I have seen some say 1 piece and then gone further in the booking process and it's 1 x 30kg. That's a slightly different issue to which company determines the allowance - the operator, or the actual airline(s) used?

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Next Issue related to this - I had booked a domestic Virgin flight (Launceston - MEL) with the 2 x 23kg bags to link up with my MEL - LHR but some days before and after as I have a relative in MEL. Paid for it with a Gift Card. Because the MEL-LHR flight has been cancelled and refunded I want...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Tell me - if there is a flight operated by British Airways, but actually flying on Malaysian & Qantas, which carriers baggage allowance is used? All it's saying is '1 piece'. I wish there was a flight search engine with baggage allowance as a filter. This has to be a mistake - British Airways...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

and fares that low have 23, or even 20 kg Royal Brunei (who I did the flight with last year) did have 30, but have dropped to a measly 20. Manageable for a short trip, but I'm doing 4 months. Want the extra for bits for a motorhome I have in the UK. Last year I didn't room for any clothes, so...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

No. I've been stiffed. Just a refund. Similar flight is not at least $100 more and then there's the baggage allowance drop. If this is how Branson ran his business I don't know how he made his money as he wouldn't be getting many repeat customers. I wont bother with Virgin again. Shoddy...

Ralphie (if you're still listening) did you have to pay any difference in the fare? Did you have the same baggage conditions (though you're flying business that may make a difference)?

Oh it was a cheapy, but it's the principle . Shouldn't make any difference. Well possibly better ticket classes have better conditions - $1181 I did book 4 months ahead and they were long flights.

Agent says 'computer says no'. Rang Virgin and they say (of course) they cant help me as the booking was through an agent. They did say nobody flying post May 1st will get a flight change without paying the fare difference and that is only people that booked direct with Virgin.

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Hi. I had MEL-LHR on May 26th (return Sep 21st). Booked via online site. Had the 2 x 23kg economy ticket. First I was offered Qantas by the agent for the missing leg, but that soon was withdrawn. Then refund. Then no refund, if you want to change it'll cost you (they didn't seem to know of the...
