Angry about proposed travel ban exemption for footballers

Suze, feel better now that you’ve gotten that off your chest?

    New Qantas safety demo 2020

Tedium touched with self-impressed cleverness. By the time they eventually reached the ”please pay attention” I’d already become bored and was switching it off... I have no idea how it ends but I’ll take your word for it that it’s watchable... right up there with ‘Married at First Sight’ and...

Looking for a non-Bogan Bali experience

Not at all, my partner and I both wanted the same experience, we found it in Ubud and Sanur (one in the mountains, one at the beach) we’ve been back twice since and are taking our grown up children next Xmas... so as long as he avoids December 🤣

Incorrect information you've been given by Qantas Contact Centre

This thread seems to have diverted from its intent to a discussion of banking rules or at least, opinions of same 🤔

    Pet airport lounge hates

Pet hates? Out of control kids! Running, yelling, hands in the food... No, the rest of us don’t find their precociousness cute, just irritating and your unwillingness to control your spawn, rudely ignorant. Was very surprised recently at the Qantas First Lounge in Melbourne at the behaviour of...

    Pet airport lounge hates

neither was happy but my logic, my smile and my size gives them little recourse. And as has been pointed out elsewhere, sometimes people will discuss very sensitive things, loudly, on a mobile phone in public, I’m pretty sure the guy on the plane discussing, wedging a seller on a property deal...

    Pet airport lounge hates

Join in. If it’s not private, then there’s no reason that you can’t participate and if it is private, then it would be conducted... ‘privately’. As I have explained twice to irate loud talkers, once in a hotel dining room and once sitting next to me on a plane.

Anyone (else) travelled Qantas Business Class to DPS?

Oh dear, one of the big disappointments of the QF flight was that they ran out of “choices”, they still had ‘something’ to offer, just not the first six things we asked for.

Anyone (else) travelled Qantas Business Class to DPS?

In Sep this year, my partner and I travelled QF BC, MELB-DPS-SYD and were left... less than impressed. Dec we’ll be doing JQ BC, SYD-DPS-SYD. I’m proposing to write a comparison between the two, BC on a full service vs. BC on a budget airline, admittedly different aircraft (QF 737 vs JQ 787)...

    New lounge trial in DPS

The Novotel trial by Qantas had finished by the time we traveled J DPS-SYD in Sep this year. Pity as we generally stay at the Novotel on arrival in Denpassar so know the hotel well. The lounge would have made a pleasant change from the bunfight that is the DPS Priority Lounge.

    Pet airport lounge hates

For loud telephone conversations, I like to join in, especially on those, last-minute calls while waiting to take off by somebody sitting inches from you when you can hear both sides of the conversation! If the call was intended to be private you wouldn’t be holding it loudly in public, as I...

    Pet airport lounge hates

With respect to people talking loudly on the phone or even just conversationally, I’d ban Americans... only kidding, well, mostly 😁 I love Americans, I work with Americans, I have American friends and went to an American school as a child, my daughter just returned from an exchange program in...

    Hi there

G’day, Phil from Canberra. Public sector employee (sort of) in a role that involves lots of travel, both domestic and international. Unfortunately my adherence to the govt’s ‘best fare on the day policy’ means that in the past 12 months I have flown both Virgin and Qantas domestically and...

Domestic airline punctuality and cancellations September 2019

Recently on a delayed QF out of SYD “delayed due to mechanical issues” when we finally boarded the pilot made a pre flight apology for his, “being late due to the heavy road traffic on the way to the airport.” No ”weather” issue in either case.

I’m guessing Roger knows the feeling! 😁

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Volvo C70 convertible, navy blue with beige leather upholstery. Love this car! A pleasure to drive, especially during springtime and autumn in Canberra Australia. Great roads, minimal traffic, lazy Sunday drives in the sun with the top down to any of the local wineries for lunch; “with my best...

Status run - waste of money [if work pays for J travel]?

I would say “Yep, depends on the circumstances”. I was QFF Gold, 25 points shy of Platinum a week out from my anniversary date. I booked a return flight economy CBR-SYD (Disc one way Flex the other) had an absolutely fabulous lunch at Aria, drinking great wine, excellent service and stupendous...

Status Credits from Singapore Air to Velocity time frame?

That’s my experience with Virgin and one of the principal reasons I switched to Qantas. With QFF I have points and SCs within minutes of touching down, with Velocity it would take weeks and the call centre would only look at it “after 5 weeks”. The final straw came when I once had two flights...

    Pre -pre boarding

I I’ve had the same courtesy extended to me overseas. Sometimes official VIP delegations military and Govt (in my case travelling with) get afforded a pre pre boarding or on other occasions we’ve been held in a VIP lounge until everyone else has boarded, is sat down and strapped in and then we...
