Travel on Cathay mid April BNE / HKG / BOS - Change now or wait and see if the Corona virus gets better or worse? Any suggestions?

Well since I opened this discussion it's now a case of wait and see. We've got to book alternative flights as, if we transit HK, Norwegian won't let us board the ship in NY. CX cancellation fee waiver is only good for flights up to end of March (we fly mid April) cancel cost $1100. To cancel...

Not looking to avoid the Gold Coast as that’s where I live! You have a very good point about checking with the cruise line as to transiting HK or for that matter coming from GC with those statistics.

That is yet to be seen as it will depend on the severity at the time. Policy states pandemic is not covered.

Thanks - I've updated the post as I realised wasn't clear that the concern is around travelling through Hong Kong with the Corona Virus lurking. Travelling on 13th April returning 17th June and leaving from Brisbane to Boston, return is Rome to Brisbane.

Travel on Cathay mid April BNE / HKG / BOS - Change now or wait and see if the Corona virus gets better or worse? Any suggestions?

Last June we booked Premium Economy flights on Cathay to start a 10 week trip to celebrate my retirement. Originally we were stopping in HK for 5 days before heading to Boston to meet with friends followed by back to back cruises from NY to Rome & Rome to Rome via Greek Isles and ultimately...

If travelling on Cathay which is better value - Air Asia Miles or Qantas FF points?

Now that Cathay has relaxed it's expiring points policy I'm wondering if I'm better off to sign up for their FF program rather than accumulate the points to my QFF account. Since I retired my Virgin status has dropped from platinum to silver and Qantas to red and my travel is all vacation so...

Which debit card is best overseas?

I've used Citibank debit card for years and in many countries around the world. No conversion fee and no other fees provided you get cash out at any bank ATM and not a generic ATM in a shopping centre otherwise the ATM will charge you a fee AND to ensure you don't pay a conversion fee ALWAYS...

Urgently need a new annual travel insurance policy

Thanks for the information on 1cover. They appear to have a good policy at a reasonable price however I did read the 74 pages of the free policy for my Citi Prestige Visa and it appears to be as good as any of the paid ones. I'll need to check out about cruises as that is not specifically...

Thanks for the info but no time to get a new credit card however I checked the policy on my Citi Platinum visa (used for booking the trip) and it seems to have really good cover through Alliance.

Urgently need a new annual travel insurance policy

My current annual business travel policy is about to expire 31st August and I'm about to retire. I can renew for 1 more year but at a cost of $1500, almost double what it was last year because we planned a couple of o/seas trips including a long one for next year. I'm having trouble finding a...
