"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Interesting and disappointing. It would seem weird if this is a Qantas rule when the main flights I noticed impacted were short inter-European ones like HEL-ZRH or HEL-CPH. It seems weird that Qantas would care about how award seats were used on FinAir flights…

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

I was using 2 - 5 - 1 earlier and getting people with no idea how to book them. I'm trying 4 - 1 -1 this morning which also seems reasonable. (Frequent Flyer -> Book or change a flight -> International) UPDATE: 2 hours 25min later and I've got someone in Fiji again. This time after putting me...

Don't worry I asked her to and she said sure, the number is 13 11 31 and to expect a 5 minute wait before being answered :P With the number of random disconnections being transferred or coming off hold I've had in the last week I'm surprised I even got routed to someone in the first place.

HUACA time then. :( After talking further she clarified that it was a business rule restriction for the call centre I was talking to (I think she said Fiji). So seems there's now a junior /low level call centre that does not have the authority to modify awards bookings.

Hey apart from the atrocious wait times and being hung up on 5 times in the last 4 days I've finally got onto someone who is trying to book my OneWorld Classic Flight Reward. I'd booked the first 2 legs online and was going to add the remaining 12 over the phone (I have a destination which...

I wish the government would hurry up and put out some more detailed vaccine guidance. Just cancelled my SYD-JNB on 02/06/21 and moved it back to 29/09/21. Now I see Qantas is saying July/August might be possible and Scomo has brought forward the vaccine by a month. :/ Current booking is...

With LATAM no longer being in Oneworld how are you doing planning to get out of South America? I was looking at a similar itinerary but without LATAM South America seems pretty difficult...

That is correct. However if you were going to maximise the segments/routing of you OWA ticket (16 segments) you might spend 300k points on just 4 segments or so and have 10+ left to add. If you have to change dates there's little point in booking anything, the seats you book are on a...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Yes, however you’ll find the individual legs often cost substantial amounts on their own so you may only be able to book a few before spending 300k. Without 318k available you have no way to take advantage of the cap. Also you‘ll pay a 5k change fee each time which when you are low on points...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

It’s a bit difficult to book things now as QF flights to Europe, USA, Santiago and Johannesburg are unavailable making it difficult to get out of the country unless you plan to go through Asia on both the way in and out. That said it’s always a better idea to book as far in advance as possible...

I got my points back in less than a week. Took 3 months for taxes though. And yes, I’ve booked for June/July 2021. At the end of the day its only going to cost you the potential interest on the taxes that you’ve paid so why not. I‘ll probably do another booking for September/October in case my...

It seems my other post got lost in the discussion around how to book OWAs. Are any experienced members able to shed light on my the Iberia flights in my itinerary would have been cancelled a couple of days after they were confirmed on the initial booking?

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

I’m not the best person to answer as I have far less experience than most people on here. But my understanding was that you can book individual award flights as they become available while you build your RTW itinerary. Then once you have the final legs you can call up and pay the change fee to...

Yeah, I also got the same run around but I said I'd just book them on the website and force the consultant to convert it to a Oneworld Award. My guess is they were supposed to be reserved for someone with higher status so they could see them but tried to refuse my booking. Luckily the the system...

I think you missed the part where I said I booked them. You’ve just got to be forceful and make them triple check. They did indeed exist, but probably not now.

FYI I got 2 J SYD-JNB on Qantas on 2 June 21. Couldn't see anything later than that (only CX via HKG) but it might just be because that's peak/school holidays. I also found economy in June/July so they have released something.

I put together a booking on the weekend for June-July 2021 (optimistic I know) that had MAD-HAV-MAD on Iberia in it. Logged in today and can see the Iberia flights have been cancelled however they are still available on their website paying cash. Has anyone else experienced this recently?

So I was optimistically creating an itinerary for April 2021 which should have just become available with my bronze status and I noticed there are no sydney to Johannesburg flights available. I switched to paying fares and noticed that there are not even any flights scheduled. Did I miss Qantas...

So whats the impact if you have a OWA ticket with LATAM flights in July? I'm assuming they don't cancel it but also that no more changes would be possible? Though they do say for paid tickets they are allowing bookings for LATAM flights after May as long they are made before April 30, hopefully...
