Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

I’m using the Citibank card in Cambodia at the moment and also getting stung with significant ATM operator charges - about $8 for $200.

    MEL airport hotels

I recently had to stay overnight after a cancelled Qantas flight (one of many!) and they put me up at the Hyatt Essendon Fields. Quite a nice hotel and the the free shuttle seemed fairly efficient. Certainly a lot better than some of the awful places Jetstar have put me up in recently. Not sure...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I totally agree that this is a slap in the face to those of us who have tried to stay loyal. I will again retain Platinum this year (as I have for the last 20+ years) but will derive no benefit from the status extension. Why not reward me with an extra year of Platinum membership AFTER I reduce...

Article: Qantas Points “The Envy of the World”? Absolutely Not!

After 20+ years as a Qantas Platinum FF and over 5.5 million QFF points in my account I'm about to change credit cards to those that I can credit to another airline. I've found Asia MIles much easier to redeem and I'm totally sick of trying to redeem Business Class international rewards with...

Point Club Plus - Sharing of Qantas Club membership under consideration

Also, as many of us are Lifetime Gold, the extension is also useless. Being able to gift is a better option.

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

Since when have you had to use a Citibank ATM? I have always used my Citi Debit Card to withdraw fee-free at various ATMs OS.

Article: How to Get Good Qantas Customer Service for Under $3,000

A 2 hour wait time on the VIP line yesterday. Appalling treatment of "valued" flyers.

    Qantas app trips not syncing

I am now having this problem on my iPhone 12 and iPad. All trips showing on the website OK but nothing on the app. Has anyone else found a solution for this?

Putting elite status bag tag onto carry on. Yay or Nay?

I still have the old Platinum, credit-card sized tags on my carry-on as they are a useful form of baggage identification if the bag is misplaced. The new Q-tags are only on my check-in luggage -too big and ugly for carry-on.

Qantas unveils three new routes from the nation's capital

Except that Jacqui, and the majority of Tasmanian Federal politicians, live in the North or North West of the state so of little use. I'm sure that Jacqui etc would prefer Devonport to reopen!

    Blissfully unaware in NW Tasmania

Did you make it to Mrs Jones? I think one of the problems that locals have with Drift (I'm one) is that Mrs Jones is, in my opinion, far superior and it's just upstairs.

    ATO bills?

    Thanks.

    ATO bills?

Are there any non-American Express credit cards that still award Qantas points for paying ATO bills?

    Whats your booking killer?

I really like having a window that opens to get fresh air.

QF Survey of new WP/P1 / post LTG benefits

Totally agree. Just admit that 75K was an absurd amount and has just pissed off many loyal flyers. I'm at about 42K lifetime credits and feel inclined to start sharing loyalty with another airline that may have lower fares. My business flying will taper off soon and my personal flying is more...

Singapore - to Marina Sands Bay or Not?

I stayed at the MBS for three nights last year - one would have been enough. The pool is pretty cool but the hotel is huge, busy and impersonal. A bit like one of the huge Las Vegas casinos. I definitely wouldn't stay again.

    Platinum Newsletter

Pretty sure it doesn't include award flights. I've had three overseas trips on points this year and they don't seem to be reflected.

Summary of Hotel Loyalty Programs - SPG, HHonors, IHG, Accor

Although a member of several programs, including Accor Advantage Plus Silver and SPG Gold, I often find it is better to use Hotels.com to accumulate free nights and access a far greater range of hotels. This means I can use a lot of boutique hotels that are often cheaper and better located.

Beware the complicated conditions of card travel insurance

I have always found the Amex Platinum coverage OK but on a recent skiing trip to Japan I had a close look at the fine print of the policy and found that it doesn't cover off-piste skiing. I quickly took out another policy to ensure that I was covered.

What's the point having points if you have to pay $850 in "fees"?

What I can't work out is how they sell the discount tickets? Sometimes the discounted fares aren't much more than the "fees" charged on points bookings.
