I’m using the Citibank card in Cambodia at the moment and also getting stung with significant ATM operator charges - about $8 for $200.

I recently had to stay overnight after a cancelled Qantas flight (one of many!) and they put me up at the Hyatt Essendon Fields. Quite a nice hotel and the the free shuttle seemed fairly efficient. Certainly a lot better than some of the awful places Jetstar have put me up in recently. Not sure...

Also, as many of us are Lifetime Gold, the extension is also useless. Being able to gift is a better option.

I still have the old Platinum, credit-card sized tags on my carry-on as they are a useful form of baggage identification if the bag is misplaced. The new Q-tags are only on my check-in luggage -too big and ugly for carry-on.

Totally agree. Just admit that 75K was an absurd amount and has just pissed off many loyal flyers. I'm at about 42K lifetime credits and feel inclined to start sharing loyalty with another airline that may have lower fares. My business flying will taper off soon and my personal flying is more...

I stayed at the MBS for three nights last year - one would have been enough. The pool is pretty cool but the hotel is huge, busy and impersonal. A bit like one of the huge Las Vegas casinos. I definitely wouldn't stay again.

Pretty sure it doesn't include award flights. I've had three overseas trips on points this year and they don't seem to be reflected.

Although a member of several programs, including Accor Advantage Plus Silver and SPG Gold, I often find it is better to use Hotels.com to accumulate free nights and access a far greater range of hotels. This means I can use a lot of boutique hotels that are often cheaper and better located.

I have always found the Amex Platinum coverage OK but on a recent skiing trip to Japan I had a close look at the fine print of the policy and found that it doesn't cover off-piste skiing. I quickly took out another policy to ensure that I was covered.

What I can't work out is how they sell the discount tickets? Sometimes the discounted fares aren't much more than the "fees" charged on points bookings.
