    Qantas Status Credits Boost

You're right. BP and Woolies were credited on the date it was earned. I don't fully trust someone in a foreign call center that easily anyways. I've applied for the Qantas card. Apparently you just need to spend $1 or more to qualify for that bonus SC. At least I'll have both ANZ and this card...

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

Just spoke to Qantas Money on the phone and spoke to a supervisor who confirmed that QFF only backdates for flights. For bonuses through card spent, it uses the date it gets added to the account. So it's 6-8 weeks time. No go for me. :(

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

I blame ourselves for rushing to apply for ANZ 75SC without realising that there was a Qantas premiere plat with 75SC. I'm going to apply for this and if it goes through (since it's a 2nd credit check in just 24 hours), then I'll use this card similar to how you're doing it, and also call qantas...

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

Thanks for the opinion, at least I know I'm not the only one thinking this way. We got an ANZ card with 75 SC approved if $3000 is spent. Only question is whether that will count towards this year's membership to tick over to platinum, or only count when ANZ deposits the SC which can take up to...

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

I'm getting super confused by how Qantas is going to handle me and my partner's status. Could someone please advice what will happen? My partner is Gold and membership year ends July 2020. He's 30 SC away from getting Platinum. We were under the impression that the expiry date for this year...

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

When a membership year ends, is Qantas resetting the SC back to 0 but letting you keep the status like before? All this is helping us to retain our status but I think there's going to be minimal flying in 2021-2022 which makes me wonder how I'm going to retain Platinum, even with the extra 600 SC.

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

I'm a little confused and need some confirmation about my understanding after reading: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/status-support.html#status-credit-boost So my partner is Gold and membership year ends July 2020. He's 30 SC away from getting Platinum...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Does anyone find it odd that you can't request for vegan, no sodium or no added sugar options on Qantas? I find their food incredibly salty and I never eat on business class flights. I can only preselect meals which are all unsuitable. Is there something I'm missing?

Platinum sitting in economy - Do the airlines pay extra attention to us?

Thanks for this. So my initial guess was that the front seats were all blocked out so by choosing the front seats it was infact 'shadow' seats up until a threshold is met and they need to release more seats to passengers. Knowing that the shadow moves with you and blocks out the seat next to you...

Platinum sitting in economy - Do the airlines pay extra attention to us?

Should have mentioned in my original post I was referring to international flights. So 'shadow' is a thing!? How exactly does one increase the chance of getting a shadow seat next to them? Selecting seats early? Selecting seats at the front of the plane? And is this all computerised or are we...

Platinum sitting in economy - Do the airlines pay extra attention to us?

Hi, Platinum holder here. I've flown in economy several times since getting platinum status. I tend to always pick a seat at the front of the plane, and from my last flight I realised that the plane has always been packed in the back but I've always had an empty seat next to me. Am I right to...

Jakarta check in and Lounge - how early can I check in?

Jakarta check in and Lounge - how early can I check in?

So I'm in Jakarta for the first time and got a flight to Sydney next week at 7pm. With the crazy traffic in Indo and also since I have to check out of my hotel at 10am, I was thinking of heading to the airport straight away, probably arriving at 12pm. Does anyone know what time Qantas check in...

Double Status Credit - No double SC on domestic leg?

Hey guys, So I recently flew MEL > SYD > LA and my ticket was purchased while there was in DSC promo (i think in may?). Anyways, I checked my activity statement and I saw that I got bonus SC for SYD > LA, but not the MEL > SYD route, eventhough it was 1 booking and was pretty the option...

    Any tips for flight upgrades?

Thank you for these tips, was exactly what I was looking for. That thread and website is amazing, really great to be able to check the availability of seats before I purchase to have a better guesstimate of likelihood of upgrades and plane capacity. Just got 2 questions if you don't mind:- 1 -...

    Any tips for flight upgrades?

I've successfully upgraded my international flight three times this year and I'm heading to LAX soon and was going to upgrade it too. Being a longer flight, I'm really wanting to have it upgraded. I was wondering if there are any tips in - figuring out business class capacity a week before the...

    Melbourne > Narita/Sapporo for < $1200?

So last year I was able to snatch up last minute return tickets to Narita at about $800ish at the end of October on Qantas (preferred airline since I'm Gold). Ticket prices at the moment look astronomical. Really wanting to go to Sapporo for skiing somewhere around the 25th Dec - 5th Jan. Does...

Using Free Lounge Invite In Singapore?

I always assumed any flight booked on Qantas.com would be either a Qantas operated flight, or a oneworld partner operated flight. My flight from Singapore > Seoul is using Asiana Airlines which I just googled and is part of Star Alliance - a competing group? My mind is now quite boggled as to...
