Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Pathetic indeed. This happened to me last year QF791 ASP-SYD. 11.55am departure. The response from the FA to half a dozen J passengers bemoaning the inappropriateness of these options on what is effectively a lunchtime flight was "I know, it is ridiculous, please write in to the airline"...

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

The reality is that there has been a downward spiral of poor etiquette and others treating lounges like their own bathroom. It is rude, selfish and entirely unnecessary, and makes the experience unpleasant for others. And I think they should be pulled up on this. If she was happy enough to do it...

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

Involuntary shedding of skin particles is an irrelevant comparison to deliberate personal grooming in an airport lounge that should be done in private or at least in the restrooms. What next. Picking one's nose and dropping the deposit onto the floor is OK?

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

They aren't so time poor as to do their personal grooming in an airport lounge where others are eating and drinking, nor rude enough to leave the debris from it on the floor of a confined space for someone else to clean up.

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

SYD Qantas Club last week. Had to take a photo as I couldn't believe it. This woman spent about 10 minutes filing her nails onto the carpet.

QF lounge access at Tokyo Narita

QF ground staff at NRT check-in were directing J pax plus QC members to Aspire Lounge last week before QF80. It is a nice lounge with great drinks choices (including coughtails to order) and kind service. Very clean. Only disappointment is food. Very bland and western (no Japanese options in...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF79 MEL-NRT last week. Genuinely enjoyed the meal and drinks service. Paired the food with Duval-Leroy NV champagne, Kirin beer (albeit too warm), then moved my way through various SA and WA whites and reds (at this point I had forgotten where from), and finished with a muscat from SA. The...

    Is Qantas for real?

Related topic. I am soon to fly QF79 MEL-NRT (9.35am departure ex-MEL). Have been following it on FR the last few days: 11/2: Did not depart until 12:34pm (3 hours late) 12/2: Did not depart until 1:47pm (over 4 hours late) 13/2: Has not departed, QF website says estimated 12.05pm departure...

    Qantas Adelaide J/Business lounge

Depending on your status / cabin class, you may be able to access Plaza lounge in ADL international. Seems to be a perk if you have access to MH Golden Lounge (which I presume comes with a J fare). Discover the Golden Lounge Experience | Malaysia Airlines

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

I don't understand the obsession of higher tier fliers with getting on the plane first, so they can wait the longest in a place less pleasant than the lounge. Yes, carry on space may be more limited, sure, but unless one has lots of carry on you should be fine. Pure conjecture, and frankly...

    2024 QF Inflight safety video

Glad to see the producers wasted no time ramming home some virtue signalling. Nice also to see several destinations one cannot travel to with QF, apart from the usual obsession with California. Can't beat the 2017 and 2018 videos - great score.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

The sorry state of QF dom J on full display recently: #1 - QF791 - ASP-SYD - 11.50am STD Omelette with beans, a miserable sausage and a couple of leaves of spinach. Very bland. No PDB, which I think for a 3 hour flight out of hot ASP is pathetic - not even a bottle of water left at the seat...

Gold status, got bumped from flight to Bangkok. Colleagues who are Bronze status / not even QFF members are still on flight.

For reference 4 months ago I booked to fly next month ASP-MEL. J award seat with QF. Last month QF cancelled the ASP-MEL service on Sundays due to 'operational reasons', rerouting me ASP-SYD-MEL, still in J. While not ideal as it effectively doubles my time on the road, not the worst outcome. I...

    Qantas Neighbour Free Seat Reservations

Was recently flying CBR-MEL on the 717 and received email offer to buy a Neighbour Free seat. Only problem was that my partner and I were sitting in 4A and 4C (there is no 4B on the 717) and so did not have any neighbours. We were both on the same booking. I didn't go through to buy it, so not...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Yes, my favourite is the 'chilli con carne' at the Melbourne Qantas Club, that in fact, has no carne (ie, meat), and scarcely any chilli. Basically, slow cooked beans.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I spotted the Lane's Lois sparkling on a QF domestic flight I took this weekend ex-MEL, in place of the dreadful Grant Burge. Hopefully this is a permanent change, as it is a significantly nicer sparkling wine!

Worried that QF690 is a ghost flight

I would not be so confident. I booked ASP-MEL for mid-October, and only got an email last week rerouting me through SYD as they appear to have recently cancelled the sole ASP-MEL flight on Sundays..

CEO retiring, what changes at Qantas would you like to see

Some changes I would like to see, from the basic to the aspirational: QF HQ treating staff better. They really are the backbone of the airline and I have noticed a considerable deterioration in staff morale, both on the ground and in the air. This used to be my favourite part of flying QF, but...

    ACCC action re cancelled flights

Relevant to QF's treatment of pax during the mass cancellations in 2022: cancelling a flight booked as a Y award fare, and then refusing to accommodate a passenger on the next available flight, because only Y revenue seats are available. I appreciate it is not the most egregious scenario, and it...
