MEL-HKG is 744 on FRI-SUN, A330 during the week I believe. I can see SYD-HKG being upped to a A388, it was flown by one yesterday actually. I can't see how MEL-HKG could possibly warrant an A388 though.

Work gives me the majority of my flights, so makes it worthwhile to combine them with doing my personal travel mainly on QF as I look to LTG as a long term goal. If that wasn't the case I'd probably do BFOD for Y and J flights given the amount of flying required for LTG.

Maybe you should consider this idea given your list of pro's and cons for QF and VA that seems to be fairly equally weighted. How valuable is Platinum to you compared to Gold? Would you be able to obtain and maintain gold on both?

She knew exactly what she was doing. She's probably done it before which is why she thinks she can get away with it. Many people will back down in a situation like that which only encourages further entitled, uncivil behaviour. Good on you for sending her on her way.

Yup, time to cancel my Platinum Card. Ever since the reduced earn rate for QFF the annual fee will just eat up too much of my points value. I'll be telling them I might as well get my card direct through AMEX for better earn rate/rewards for the annual fee. Will be interesting to see if anything...

That fits in pretty nicely with what was my previous AMEX spend ;)
