Through checking on separate itineraries: policies and experiences

Yes, if you're able to through check your baggage all the way to Chiang Mai & have a Bangkok - Chiang Mai boarding pass (you can get a boarding pass near the CIQ area), then in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, you don't go through the normal, immigration area. You look for the 'CIQ' (no idea what it stands...

Through checking on separate itineraries: policies and experiences

I concur with dairyfloss. Done this identical run often & there's no way they'll through check onto Bangkok Airways. So for you it's immigration, baggage collection, oversize luggage collection (golf clubs), clear customs & then dash upstairs to the departure level to check in for Bangkok...

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

I've just had another unusual Malaysia Airlines Enrich experience. The last ticket I used up my remaining Enrich points on – just to get rid of them, was a Bangkok – Australia in business class, for a ridiculously expensive 82,700 points each way. Singapore Airlines by contrast are 58,000 points...

When transferred AX points dont appear and EY doesn't care

I had exactly this problem late last year when attempting to transfer just 3,000 points from AMEX to Malaysia Airlines. That's all I needed to top up my points so I could finalise a ticket redemption. Weeks later, the points had not arrived. Eventually, as it was such a small number of points, I...

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

If you know Mark, you'd be doing him & all of us a favour by getting him to read this thread! The other thing is that when Enrich do have promos, they're ALWAYS K.L. centric, i.e. everything is either into or out of K.L. They seem to ignore the fact that they have Enrich members that live...

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

I hope this new Mark Ross-Smith reads this thread & that MH / Enrich start listening to their customers! As it stands currently, Enrich has been destroyed & the new points system is a complete DISINCENTIVE to be flying as a fare paying passenger on Malaysia Airlines & a complete disincentive to...

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

I didn't get that far, as I had insufficient points to complete the transaction. And agreed, before they were definitely expensive.

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

I just did a comparison using the new mileage rates on a Bangkok – Australia – Bangkok itinerary in business class. Before the last devaluation (removal of the discount for online redemption), this would have cost me 93,500 points return, plus taxes & surcharges. With the end of the online...

Enrich Program changes from 10th June 2017

It appears there’s not going to be any fixed points value to a specific journey – they’re going dynamic, so will all depend on the fares available at that time, seasonality & seat availability! They’re also ‘gilding the lily’ somewhat, by allocating an arbitrary points value to the fuel...

Through checking on separate itineraries: policies and experiences

Thanks very much dajop - good to know. As my regular combination is MH to PG (Bangkok Airways), I wonder if this will be honoured again in reverse, when connecting from PG to MH? Especially as I don't believe Bangkok Airways is a oneworld member, only a codeshare partner?

Through checking on separate itineraries: policies and experiences

I've connected Bangkok Airways to Malaysia airlines many times & always through checked baggage. Not this time though. Was advised of new regulation that baggage will no longer be through checked, unless on the same PNR / ticket. This is regardless of the fact that PG is a code share partner...

15% On Line Redemption booking discount Ends

Yes, sadly yet another devaluation of our Enrich frequent flyer points! They're trying to put a positive spin on this, but it just doesn't hold water! I've complained to MH Enrich several times that the promotion's they comes up with are useless & extremely bad value if you live in Australia...
