    Mel-Sin Upgrade using Velocity Points

In short, I am a big fan of VA on domestic sector ; and trying to figure out if I can use them for some Intl legs as well. Of course a massage from the Qantas First Spa before the flight from Mel/Syd is unbeatable, but a return flight on a SQ A350 upgraded effectively using VA points with VA...

    Mel-Sin Upgrade using Velocity Points

Thanks - the swapping of FF number post upgrade makes sense. Will try that in the next trip. Also another question, Qantas needs around ~28K points to upgrade to J from economy flex, where as Singapore is showing potentially ~57K which is 1.3X the Velocity points as per this chart; am i reading...

    Mel-Sin Upgrade using Velocity Points

Need some advice for this leg. I am currently Platinum with both Virgin and Qantas, and heavily use Qantas for all Int'l legs, and use VA for domestic. My travel this year has mainly been centered around Mel-Sin leg, which means I have already qualified for QF Platinum for next year. So want to...

VA and QF Plat. Now we choose one

I guess it all comes down to the experience. I still struggle with Qantas - been on three calls with them since morning to sort out an Intl flight issue I had on the website. Issues are common - its how the service team helps leaves the mark. I am waiting on the call from last 5 mins - with VA i...

VA and QF Plat. Now we choose one

Been a VA PLT and QF Gold for a few years - last year decided to chase PLT on both and achieved it earlier this year (thanks but no thanks to significant domestic work travel). Here's my list: Lounges: If you are after good selection of food/beverages - Qantas wins hands down. But I personally...

    Virgin Pricing Errors

Agree, and normally every IT infrastructure has issues. But as far as I understand, the implementation is Virgin's own based on Sabre's system, and this widget on the right is virgin calculating the final price based on fares/flight provided by Sabre. My frustration with their IT comes from...

    Virgin Pricing Errors

Watch out for pricing errors if you are booking a Virgin flight tonight. Apparently there are some issues with GST calculation at the moment, and they are not sure when it started. I love flying with VA but hate their IT infrastructure. 234.58 + 612.95 != 903.99
