Transferring terminals at Sydney is a rubbish and time consuming process (particularly coming back into Aus). Based on recent experience I’d be surprised if you can do it in 90 mins. Good luck!
This happened to us on a recent return trip from YVR to SYD in Y+. One chose aisle pref, other window and we were allocated seats together but couldn’t see what they were until check-in. Silver QFF.

It might be full but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a seat, it just might not be...
Glad to hear it all worked out!
Out of interest, how often do downgrades occur? I’ve booked a Business Classic Rewards trip to the US at Christmas for a week and the only reason I’m going is because I could get J seats. I’m a bit nervous now about a potential downgrade! We’re going on QF55/QF16.
Yup flying PER - MEL - LAX on QF and doing a 3 day stopover before flying onto JFK.
Thanks but decided to book a room at the Travelodge thanks to the sensible advice here, it will certainly be much less stressful!
I'm pretty sure Qantas only has the one flight daily. Hmmm okay either need to suck it up and forfeit the nights stay in Anaheim or leave super early in the morning. If we do that we'll probably aim for 4:30 as missing the flight is not an option. Will security be busy at the time of the morning?
Argh I know! Hindsight is annoying. Hotel in Anaheim is non refundable unfortunately so too much money to let go of to save an hours travel time. Do you think leaving Anaheim at 5am will be enough time?
What time should we aim to be at LAX T1 for the 8:20 departure to JFK? Poor planning (oops) means we'll need to get to LAX from Anaheim in the morning so just trying to work out our schedule.
It'll be a Thursday morning flight.
I have two passes to the QC Lounge (perk of the ANZ FF Black card) which I hope to use in December but I'm also considering cancelling that particular card to avoid the annual fee. Will they want to see the CC at the lounge when I use the passes? Or is just the passes enough to get in?
Search for the flight you're after (dates aren't important) and then on the Select Your Fare page click on the i next to the fare type at the top. It will tell you the change fees for that particular fare type, Sale, Saver, etc.
If you are not travelling but use your points to request an upgrade for an eligible family member, the upgrade will be awarded according to the eligible family member's priority, not the status of the Qantas Frequent Flyer whose points are being used. An exception is made when Platinum One...
If you ever have surgery and have to wear compression socks - keep them!! They're measured for you and are excellent quality. Great for flying. The hospital will just ditch them if you leave them. The tea lady forced me to take mine lol.
It's rare to get DVT in both legs so if both are swollen that's generally a "good" sign. Definitely get it ruled out though.
Epsom salt bath and elevation. Hot humid weather doesn't help.
