I finally did my DOH-MEL-ADL flight and got off in MEL despite being booked to ADL. I was hand luggage only and experienced no issues. Smart gates worked for both me, an Aus citizen, and my British spouse.

In October I am doing this flight and getting off in MEL, hand baggage only. Will report back.

I read that most people are flying this flight to MEL only anyway, so I hardly see how it can be an issue, just go through immigration with them and if asked I have a migraine!

Qatar have reward seats released for end of October 23, but the VA website only lets you pick until early October 23, if I call VA will I be able to book these?

I did this route yesterday. I got a day room at the Novotel at the Airport for $90 and spent a few hours in the pool and then had a shower and went back to the terminal, its a 5min walk. They don't open the international gate / lounge area until 1.5 hours before the flight, so don't rush back...

I am on QF64 on the 1st and noticed availability all got zeroed out an hour or so ago. Is the delay of todays QF63 likely to impact my flight due to crew rest in JNB?

Re: Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" bonus given thread. Velocity Plat, called to cancel and was only offered the Velocity Escape. I hung up the phone. I have put about 30k over the card in the last 12months. :(

Just made 2 bookings and only got a confirmation email for 1. How long should I wait? Hopefully if I have to call them it isn't difficult, I didn't note the booking reference. Its not in my Velocity account as I booked it for someone else.

Velocity replied, they gave me 8,000 points back. I responded advising that is not good enough given the inconvenience of a time change and downgrade which resulted in me being separated from my partner.
