G'day, I have QF Lifetime Gold status. I was wondering if it is possible when flying in the US to book (paying) a flight and enter my AA frequent flyer number to accrue miles with AA but then use my QF Lifetime Gold FF card to access the Admirals Club? i.e. My ticket would say I was AAdvantage...

It's an interesting topic. I kind of think of my LtG as Superannuation. Once I stop travelling with work, I get club access and Gold benefits throughout retirement.

I disagree with that. I pay more to fly on QANTAS on personal travel with family due to my status with QANTAS. Try a 5 hour layover at LAX with no lounge access and get back to me :) Perhaps it's less of an issue domestically but we (my family and I) truely value the extra baggage when...

Yes, they really seem to make a point of it throughout the flight. I asked for my complimentary wine. Then tried to purchase more wine 4 more times but they wouldn't take my money! Took several opportunities to ask "Is everything ok Mr. <ScottM>"?

I didn't think it was possible to request an upgrade with AA as a QF FF (and have your status recognised)? I'm pretty sure it is definately not recognised when flying on a QF itinerary (The upgrade option isn't even available) Any advice? [definately got treated as Executive Platinum though...

As mentioned. Seats may look like they are occupied, as they are reserved for Platinum One, or other higher tiers until it gets closer to departure. Keep checking is my advice. e.g. I know that as at QFF WP I can't select the front row of business nor the front 2 rows of economy until ~ 80 hours...

If your upgrade comes through (and by through I mean not at the gate [BEEP BEEP]) you'll be able to log in and choose your business class seats.

Without hijacking the threat you'll find that if you accept the QANTAS panel offer they'll send you an email regarding flights after you've taken them requesting feedback.

Apologies if this was covered earlier, but I didn't read the entire thread [famous last words! :(] If you are booking two separate itineraries you aren't covered by travel insurance in the event of something happening between the two flights.

Re: No access to Cathay lounge in SF The confusion on his part was me being Emerald and flying on AA. Once he checked he told me One World Emerald (except AA) could have access to the lounge for AA flights.
