I have the velocity Amex platinum and i used the free flight to travel to/from PER-SYD recently. I upgraded using the online upgrade me option - $400 to business one way or 30,000 points. When I upgrade on Qantas it's only 18,000 points which is much more reasonable IMO

Thanks! I just booked a flight from Perth to Sydney and it all went smoothly. No questions asked and gave me a whole day to make flight changes etc. Sydney is still on the cards ;)

Any idea why they've taken the annual free flights from perth-syd and adelaide off??? Not sure if I'd have any reason to use my free flights to go to port hedland :/
