Mine arrived on Saturday morning. I wish I ordered more :( Pepper/allspice. Dried herbs. Really luscious. This one punches way above its weight.

Agreed. It's silky smooth, but lacks a bit of character, I thought. WC notes indicate RRP of $85 and drink by 2016 (tasted in 2010). It definitely seems to be near the end of its drinking window, and being under cork, I'll definitely be drinking the remaining 5 bottles this year. Bit pricey...

Unfortunately my budget wears the pants in our relationship. I managed to soften her up a bit with the Chateau La Clap Rose and assorted whites from the Salvation XVII case, but fear I'm close to running out of credits again :|

I've tried both. The Capel Vale is a good value inoffensive quaffer, but I'd try to stretch for the $14 one. WC TN says you'd have to pay 3 to 4 times $28 for a similar wine :D It definitely has more potential.

Yeah. Got two cases in the shed - ordered one extra by accident. It got a glowing endorsement in the current WC mag.

Yes. It is very smooth drinking and good value for money. Nothing offends. I got a second case.

I have. First few sips were disappointing, but it slowly opened up. Big jammy punch of plum, followed by lots of wet grass and a long lingering hit of marzipan. It's a little different from the abundance of Shiraz I already have, and I think this will benefit greatly from a few years under...

That's some good news then. The bottom of the cork was dry, which seemed to indicate upright storage. It also came out very easily, but perhaps this is thanks to the coating too. I'll pull out another to examine :D I bought a sixer based on your post, and definitely didn't end up...

I'm not sure about the 3-5 times valuation so much, but it's decent for the money, and quite interesting. Did you also find the cork to be dead dry and cheap? Looks like it was stored upright, so I'm leaving them at the front of the cupboard :D
