Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Unfortunately it seems as though all methods I'm using to upload photos are no longer working so I will leave this report as it stands until I get back. My efforts to keep up were clearly in vain as these cities have just soo much to experience, downtime is very limited. As a quick overview of...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Next on the list was a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower. And then another bunch of steps to the viewing platform of the Arc de Triomphe.

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

The following day began with Notre Dame (including ascending the many many stairs to the top of the bell towers to meet Quasimodo), then Sainte Chapelle and finally the Conciergie. Notre Dame I felt the Notre Dame very much epitomised the Paris experience. Centuries of history throughout...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Third destination: Paris What an incredible city Paris is. Of course words can't describe the atmosphere (well at least I couldn't find the right ones) but to have a living, moving, breathing city that is so drenched in history and beauty is rather incredible. I was a little worried with the...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Prior to moving onto the next destination of Paris I'll do a bit of a photo dump from my brief time in Hong Kong. Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car on Lantau Island (not sure if I was more excited to see the Big Buddha statue or the excellent views of the airport seen from the cable car ride...)...

Hong Kong Lounges Another early wake-up and after a quick check-out I was in a taxi on the way back to Kowloon Airport Express Station. Having offloaded the last of my spare HKD to the driver I had a little moment of panic as I hadn't yet bought my train ticket, though luckily you can pay for...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Flight - Tokyo to Hong Kong CX543 747-400 Seat 83K It is tough to say if I was more excited for the previous 9 hours in a world leading first class product of this short 4 hour hop in business class but it was a very special feeling boarding the Queen of the Skies for the first time and having...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Tokyo Activites - Baseball The last item on the itinerary for Tokyo was to catch a Baseball game. Similarly to the Sumo wrestling I had an idea on the fundamentals of the game but having not followed it in any great capacity the finer points of tactics went over my head. The atmosphere was...

Tokyo Activities - Owl Cafe The following day began with a visit to another first for me - an owl cafe! If you're familiar with the concept of the cat cafe then it's basically the same but with owls. If you're not familiar with the concept of a cat cafe, then drop everything you're doing and go...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Tokyo Activites - Sumo Wrestling The main reason for the strange routing through Tokyo before Hong Kong was I wanted to see two attractions I hadn't been able to in my previous visits here. A sumo wrestling tournament and a Japanese baseball game. In truth I would've also loved to see a J-league...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

Righto then, I finally have a little down time in London so time to get this thing back up to speed. I'll keep things brief for the purposes of available time for now but once I get back home I'll go back and flesh out the story with a lot more detail and pictures. The next couple of posts were...

Indeed it was! My first and possibly my last but I had a ball going up those stairs regardless.

Qantas First Class Lounge and Flight 1: Sydney to Tokyo on JL F Seems like my plan to keep this live hasn't gone to script but it's sage to say I've been having a ball and the trip hasn't even really started yet! As the above post hints, I was lucky enough to experience some amazing hard and...

It will be yet another trip of firsts for this still very-new-to-this-game-flyer. The premium cabin flights were purchased with points coming from a mix of credit card earnt QFF and purchased AA miles. I'm sure I could have made them go further with a little more planning and flexibility from...

Where to next? Japan of course! (and a little bit of Europe)

I mean it has been almost half a year since I was last in Japan so a return is clearly well overdue... Alas there is a greater destination here, a whirlwind 3 week trip around Western Europe getting an all too brief sample of some of the major cities with Paris, London, Munich, Venice, Florence...

    EY / CX / JL F reviews

Another excellent TR from you boomy. You have certainly ramped up the excitement for my first taste of F on JL in a couple of weeks.

    Japan... Again!

I don't believe so and going by that link the train only runs in peak season on specified days which may have been the case back then and it just didn't run on the day I needed. As others have said Hyperdia has always been very informative for me so you might want to plan on taking the 10:04...

    Lounge Meets July 2016

Any chance someone will be going through BNE on QF/JQ between 17:00 and 20:00 on the 11/7 that could guest 1 into the Qantas Club? Unfortunately the passes from a recent CC sign up deal haven't arrived yet so I only have 1 lounge pass between the two of us flying.

    Japan... Again!

Thanks kamchatsky :) I certainly hope you do, after all the next best thing to travelling to Japan has to be reading other's experiences of travelling to Japan :)
