    Qantas First Class menus

I had the Dom P2 DXB to LHR in August. Awesome. I am in the SYD F Lounge and inquired about the decanter. The helpful server said no decanters during school holidays, as traffic in lounge is 2-3x normal levels. I didn't know this, but it might have been mentioned previously.

MH's new business class on their A330s starts today!

I flew this in August and will be it on it again in two weeks. It's pretty nice, as you as you don't get the pair w/o direct aisle access. I did find it a bit short though (I'm 1.85) There was an IFE hiccup where they had to reboot 5-6x and it took about 90 mins for it to work. I loved the fact...

New AA campaign on flyer etiquette - lets hope it works

Bingo. My wife who's an AA EXP (for years) gets treated pretty terribly. The latest was our July flight where, even in J, she couldn't get an extra pillow, even at 6 months pregnant and the plane not full (J was, but Y wasn't.) She asked the flight attendant who said she'd check and got zero...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

I got bumped last year on a SFO-LAX flight that was a confirmed upgrade via SWU. I got a $300 voucher and put on next flight. It was totally fine - just spent a bit more time in lounge and got $300 for basically an hour of my time. Win!

    New PJs?

Good night. Those are underwhelming. The slippers look nice, but the amenity kit is definitely a step down. Only one amenity kit pictured; no more male/female kits?

Current F Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Anyone note any chance to the breakfast menu? I'll be there this week in MEL and am looking forward to trying something new.

First* Class with an Asterisk [*Lesser treatment when not WP..]

Re: What the best seat(s) to choose in First class on A380? I was just on QF 9 MEL to DXB earlier this month. They don't do a tasting menu (posted in the menu thread). They do a dinner type thing, but it wasn't great. Did you have a problem on that leg? I found that most everyone slept (F was...

My first international flight as WP is later this year

If going via Sydney, I like to get on QF 400 at 6 AM to get to the lounge earlier and have a bit more relaxed time (but I hate that terminal transfer!) I generally prefer to fly out of MEL; concur with the previous posters that you can get spa appts easier and I find the meal service generally...

Qantas FY2016 results announcement - what to expect

They majy just not be ready to announce it. It would have to be a logistical nightmare to manage how to refurb these properly.

BKK-SYD Business Class QF A333-300 or Emirates 777-300ER

I did the QF flight last year on the new hardware. It's a fine flight.

    Qantas First Class menus

I flew QF 9 MEL to DXB earlier this month. The trip really deserves it's own thread, but here's the menu. A couple of things: late night, so no real proper dinner; they did serve us the full assortment of what they had. LGD was served; wanted to try the Sir Winston. Not a huge fan of the LGD...

When do the First Hosts call? plus any tips for a F newbie?

I'm not a spa guy, but got a facial last trip. it was nice and a good way to relax. It was very refreshing. I recommend it. As for other strategies, there's a big long thread on what to do that I read before my maiden flight earlier this month. One pro tip: save your drinking for the plane...

    Qantas refurbish - any rumors?

Oh nice! Thanks for that info. I have 2 J CX flights next month. AA unfortunately badgered me about this (as of July) so perhaps they'll adopt the same policy soon for their 773.

    Qantas refurbish - any rumors?

I agree. I've done the A330 to BKK and it's just fine. I greatly prefer that seat over the Skybed II and would be thrilled if the A380 fleet had that seat. Also wanted to point out it's a better seat than CX and AA in a few ways, which many love as the standard for business suites: * IFE screen...

Favorite paint jobs on aircraft types

ANZ 787 in black & the ANA Star Wars livery (R2D2 is my fave; just saw it in NYC) are two of my all time favourites. I do think for standard liveries, QF is really nice. In addition, I'm a sucker for throwback liveries on new planes.

Date changes on a pre devaluation AA Redemption

Wow thanks for this! My wife is trying to do this exact thing right now for an October flight.

    Qantas refurbish - any rumors?

Personally, I'm hoping for an announcement after the A330's are done. Waiting until the 787 starts trickling in is a long time away. First a380 flight was 08. Even if they announced a refurb program this month, we wouldn't see the first planes until next year and that'd be 9 years since launch...

What frequent flyer benefits would you like airlines to adopt?

A few: * X number of airport rides for high status * X number of moving to earlier flight based on availability on same day, upon checkin (this has happened to me before, but I'd love to see a formal benefit) * AA SWUs would be great to see on another airline. This keeps my wife flying AA for...

    Airline lounge WiFi speeds

FWIW, I just did a test in the MEL F lounge. 44 down/48 up. Fastest I've seen it, but there aren't 50 people in here right now trying to all stream Netflix.

    Airline lounge WiFi speeds

AA Domestic lounges are pretty good and better than any QF lounge in Australia I've been in. JAL in Haneda is fast (never test unless it's terrible.)
