    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Usually I rely upon AMEX card travel insurance - which Matt reports is underwritten by Chubb, who have excluded Covid cover. But my Commonwealth Bank card insurance is underwritten by Cover-More. Does that mean that it includes Covid cover like the policies that Cover-More sell direct to the...

SQ Premium Economy Food & Service

Different airlines offer vastly different PE. The Air New Zealand product is by far the best: Business Class food and wine but with a recliner seat comparable to domestic Business Class Bottom of the class has to be the Qantas 787 Premium Economy, with its appalling legroom. The issue across...

I can't wait. I've always wanted to be at the Port Elizabeth Test to see the band!

QF J award flight to JNB return

I'm going to the cricket too. No status with QF, but both VA and NZ have Business Class award inventory on SAA.

AirNewZealand: QF is more like AirSydney

You're probably right, but the terminal change at Sydney is just too painful. And the Brisbane International Qantas Club is worse than the terminal!

AirNewZealand: QF is more like AirSydney

No, Auckland is a MORE viable transit point than Sydney for Brisbane and Melbourne (and Cairns and Adelaide) passengers. No baggage reclaim. No customs. No terminal change.

    US Airports

The new Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX is fabulous, far better than any Australian airport. SFO is world class too. Honolulu is okay and then everywhere else is just dire. Except Indianapolis which is magnificent. So LA is fine so long as you're not on United, Delta or American.

Does anyone on AFF use NZ/Airpoints as their primary program?

There is a definite sweet spot with the Airpoints program. Points redemptions are terrible value. But if you can reach Elite status you can lock in upgrades from Premium Economy to Business 355 days out. You get two freebies, then the rest are around 400 Airpoints dollars per sector. But that...

Delta upgrade and Velocity status credit

No, Delta do this often and it definitely earns at the higher class level. I did it three weeks ago. The offer is to "upgrade your flights" but it is actually offering a discounted upsell to First Class rather than an upgrade. What you have written is what should happen, but in reality the...

BNE/LAX Business Class - Most Comfort?

I would argue that Air NZ is a better option than Qantas or Virgin. The seat is far superior to either, but more importantly on the flight up to LAX the detour via Auckland means that you get several hours sleep, whereas with both QF and VA sleep is practically impossible northbound.
