Yes, that would be even better - I am actually really interested to see just how quiet the 787 is - the A380 seems much quieter than the 777 but every report I read says the 787 is quieter still

Weird, did a buy which went through fine, but when I tried to gift my wife points (using the same PayPal account) I got an error message saying the credit card information couldn't be confirmed.... I know there is plenty of space on the card, so it seems odd - anyone have any thoughts?

The wording is indeed ambiguous, but if you can buy 50k+50k and also receive as a gift 50k+50k that would be amazing - Approx $3.5k US for 200k miles is frankly insane!

Yeah, I got that much, but with 2x 30k Bonus wouldn't you lose 10k of the bonus miles, as the max you're supposed to be able to get is 50k?

Would you not miss out on some of the bonus doing it this way?

Talking again with SWMBO tonight, and what is the general consensus as to the value of having miles to save, considering the likely merger of AA and US programs. Obviously using miles is always good, but saving them for potential F awards is of course always fun.

That's a shame, but expected. Does that also work the same way however when my wife and I both have enough miles to book an award individually, but not enough to book for both of us from one account - would they allow multiple account bookings that way or would they have to be booked separately...

I did think of that, although there's just the wife and I, who already have them - I guess I could create it for the cat.... although then comes the issue of accessing it when on the phone to the USDM service desk!

How hot are they on multiple accounts? Say for example I wanted to create a second account for the purposes of getting the bonus miles, how easy is it to get awards by paying with multiple accounts? It seems like it would be strictly verboten but you never know...!

Time for another stupid question - on the Oneworld award chart it seems to suggest that all awards to/from Europe have to go via the Atlantic - yet I've seen several itineraries that don't seem to - are they just not consistent at applying their own rules?

As I understand it the maximum any one account can get under this deal is 50,000 bonus miles, so someone COULD technically gift you miles, but if you had already bought some yourself then you wouldn't get the bonus
