Just want to clarify, this was entry into the delta lounge not the HA lounge

So no problems getting into the lounge, only downside is they don't announce your flight when it's time to board. Had a decent array of snacks, hot food and drinks. Quite enjoyable in fact.

another way is to use post bill pay and pay with paypal. A lot of utility websites don't let you use AMEX but you can use AMEX with paypal and just use post bill pay to earn full points!

As a wp I would have expected you to know much better about the rules then the common practice of people not flying as often you, staff just doing their job
