an update from a mate HBA for the 6am this morning 5 minutes to get through security at 5 am... They were explosive testing everyone, doing random bag checks after security, and I believe doing random checked luggage checks

Well there are enough uses of the word easy to make me feel better in there. The bike bag is normally the only complication but I can usually deal with that.

Cheers, The admin office was just about closed and I managed to use the left luggage downstairs. For future reference they opened 4hrs early (it was the only flight on the board for the PM) The lounge (Velocity gold and above) is excellent though as it's the first/business one.

I know I have been able to check in really early for some flight with the major airlines at major airports when they have dedicated desks but not done Manchester/Etihad before. I'm not flying till 8pm (10am here now) and was hoping to get rid of my luggage early and do some stuff before heading...
