Cathay Pacific Award availability on Alaska Air

hm, ok, thanks. Yep, I LOVE CX!.. But want to visit PEK as a stopover, have to look at Air China probably. I like Avianca as well, very good and cheapest option that I found to fly to Europe. Use them (Thai then TK) this time, but hoping for CX on the way back to AU). Many thanks for the tips.

Cathay Pacific Award availability on Alaska Air

SandyS, they release quite a lot of last minute J and F just about 6-8 days before the flight. Whatever tix hasn't been sold, they open them up for an award inventory. I play around with AsiaMiles to check how much in advance they do it, it's almost 99,999% they will release tickets closer to...

Anna, it's hard to live on an edge! I thought two weeks too, but the best time for J is 6 days in advance now, and for F is mostly 2-3 days!!! There are plenty of flights from Australia per day, fingers cross you will be able to fly your "perfect" day still, I'm hoping for the same - last minute...

Minimum connection time in Hong Kong - separate bookings (QF127 & KA/CX/CCA)

Good for you! To be honest, don't know that I pay anything extra at all... So many times transiting through... unless it's in the ticket when I buy it, I did not pay any departure tax extra to the tickets I had... ever!..;) with the stopover or without... And It's always cheaper for me...

Minimum connection time in Hong Kong - separate bookings (QF127 & KA/CX/CCA)

I always fly on a separate tickets. HKG is my favorite stopover place. It doesn't really matter who you will fly out of HKG, just ask at the airport in Australia to connect your tickets and put your luggage through to the final destination. They will do it only if the connection time is less...
