    Qantas online checkin launched!!

When I got to PQQ tonight, when I asked if something in row 1 was available, was told yes, but they could not change my seat. I asked why as it had happened in Sydney, and was told that: "Head Office has told us not to change seats if you have used OLCI, as it is causing problems by bumping...

    Qantas online checkin launched!!

I think the ability to change seats to a more forward seat, depends on the loadings, and number of CL/WP/SG flying on the flight. If there are none in economy, then there is no reason why all seats (except exit rows) can be open for everyone to select, as this would be just like check-in. One...

    Qantas online checkin launched!!

The main entity that OLCI will benefit is QF! Sure, there will be time savings for people flying, but I am pretty sure that QF will be able to cut more staff from the check-in areas of the airport. Once the kinks in the system are ironed out, I suspect that very few people will need deal with...

    Qantas online checkin launched!!

Something midly amusing happened to me this morning when I turned up for a flight that I had used OLCI for the previous day. I have a forward window preference, and OLCI had given me 1B for the Crash-8 Flight to Port Macquarie. It was an exit row and I knew the flight was full so I didn't argue...

    Mobiles take to the skies

The official news release from QF below: About Qantas - Newsroom One positive out of it though, is that the product is being provided in part by Panasonic Aero, so fingers crossed that with the A380 and B787 QF will use the Panasonic AVOD which has proved a lot more reliable that the...

    Strange complaint / Hamilton Charters

I have noticed that QF are getting planes off before scheduled departure time quite a bit recently. I would say that over 75% of my recent flights (last couple of months) have departed before schedule. I assume that it would only take an extra few minutes to get the plane off on time (or early)...

    Qantas and Dell laptops

Sadly no, as I had noticed it before the increase in heat before the announcement of either recall... Even worse, is that Apple is going to take 4-6 weeks to replace the battery, so my laptop is a desktop for the next 4-6 weeks! D P G

duffshot... I have upgraded to a silver membership as it removes the advertisments, which seemed to be multiplying every time I logged in. I have no problems with adverts, but a payment of $35 to make the viewing of AFF much more enjoyable was a no brainer. D P G
