Confused: Platinum One, Status Credits and Bonus

Ha, the staff were very attentive on my trip to London last week.. let’s see how the trip to Gold Coast is today.

Confused: Platinum One, Status Credits and Bonus

Good clarification! The good news is, I’m now platinum one, and the credits did count :)

Confused: Platinum One, Status Credits and Bonus

Hi all, I'm a bit confused about the Platinum One status credits requirement and the 'loyalty bonus' status credits (which apparently didn't count for P1, then did for a bit during the pandemic, then now don't again?). See screenshot of my current status here: Confusingly - 150 of my status...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Interestingly doesn't cover my original case - Alaskan is a non-Oneworld airline (but the flight number was the issue - which was a Qantas one). However, I've since had independent confirmation from Jeff H- that I should have been granted access, though there is no plan for an upgrade of...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

I was informed none were available. It was approx 6AM - I find it hard to believe that there isn't a manager on duty, but that was the line.

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

I'm promised an update from Jeff H-, within the next week - specifically around a clarification of the entry rules to this lounge. As I said before, I wouldn't be surprised if they simply prevent those travelling on onward domestic legs from entry, though this would be very complex to specify...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Completely agree - and I would understand if they actually end up clarifying the language used on their website for this particular location. One way or another though, they owe it to all their customers to clarify the rules, and give more training on specifics to their staff.

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Heh, indeed - just enjoying watching the chaos now :) EDIT: 3700 views, and no response from Qantas - despite several emails to appropriate staff and addresses.

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

I suspect that is the case - the multiple levels of misdirection appear to stump even Qantas themselves - as witnessed by the fact they had to 'place me on hold for a discussion' before being able to answer the access question (in the affirmative, as noted above)

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Perhaps so, but they would be doing that based on either a wilful ignorance, or blatant disregard for the rules concerning access to that lounge - specifically, as has been pointed out - for QC members, there merely has to exist a QF flight number for the flight - and you need to have booked...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Yeah - interestingly at TBIT I still had to use the 'I'm doing some shopping in TBIT' to get past the people looking at boarding passes..

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

I'll run it through my barcode scanner just to make sure - previously after US domestic legs that then head international on Qantas, I've had to get a new boarding pass at the Qantas desk at LAX - perhaps this has changed?

Hmm - I wonder what 873 is then.. My boarding pass says, at the bottom left: 'SOLD AS QF3739 ETKT 0819602.........'

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

I did actually show them my Qantas card - but the staff member at the front didn't seem to recognise it, or understand what the Qantas Club was - despite me showing her on my phone the Qantas website for that lounge, which clearly states QC members are permitted entry.

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Terminal 6 - as it was Q3739/AS475 - I think Alaskan fly solely out of Terminal 6 at LAX. I originally got the idea from this forum to go back into TBIT with my Terminal 6 boarding pass based on the success of others - but it would appear not in this case. I'd also heard the thing regarding...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

So I've heard - I thought I came 'armed' with information - especially after asking in Sydney, and at TBIT Qantas desk..

Many thanks - I've started to do more flying recently for work, so I thought I'd better stop lurking :)

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Hi all! I just thought I'd quickly write to document my experience on arrival at the TBIT Qantas Business Lounge on Friday. I'm a Qantas Club member, and the short version is - I was denied access. The long version: I was flying from Sydney->Lax->SEA in economy. The Sydney->LAX was great...
