Not sure if any changes recently, but a couple of years ago wrote to CX and was matched to CX Silver (using my QF Gold). Got quite a few op-ups as silver too.

As a QF plat based in Asia and flying CX primarily, I could not agree more. Also a stark contrast in service on my recent QF J flight (HKG-SYD). CX J/Y always receive the personally greet with a "Thankyou for flying with us again Mr P", often with the menu handed over. J meal service...
