I was able to book through the call centre, GRU-CPT for only 29,000 miles + $17 in economy.
There was no biz option on the date I needed.
Using miles for economy usually don't provide good value, but the price for the cash fare is $1,272 so I did quite well.... and of course my options are...
So what is going on with Virgin? I applied in Nov for this promotion, and never received the 30k bonus. Trying to work through this with the filipino staff is a real struggle. Currently it's an escalated case and I was told to wait 7 days.... but maybe I never actually received the email...
Thanks for your review. This review and a couple of videos on YouTube convinced me to spend the extra $200 for Row 1 doing the reverse trip, BOG-CNF.
What also helped me decide was that while I was thinking about the seats, I opened another window to look at other options to get anywhere near...
I was just doing more research and found a plugin from Chrome called "Legroom for Google Flights". This shows you seat pitch without having to press the drop-down arrow for each individual flight!
It does interfere with my "Tile tabs" mode when viewing two tabs side by side in Vivaldi. I...
Cebu has a FAQ page: Booking a Flight
Our seats range from 16.7 inches to 17.3 inches. Guests of size or guests who need space for their standard-sized hand carry bag are requested to book two (2) seats for a more comfortable flight.
Although in saying that, I guess you would have to pay for...
Just have to pop back in because I'm also looking at a holiday in May, and found a Cebu Pacific flight direct MEL-MNL for only $199, which is incredible. They only make like $33 before govt taxes and surcharges. The reason is that they fly this A330-900 which fits as many seats as an A380...
Very nicely written article, which I'm sure I will refer to multiple times over the next few years.
I did a RTW in Business using 280k KF last year which spoilt me but this year I'm putting together a RTW with a mish-mash of paid economy and reward Premium/Biz. Most of my travel in the last...
It's really disconcerting that I don't get any emails like that. I had to call Velocity to confirm it's all on track but there is no box to tick in the dashboard....
Alright so I called Velocity and spoke to a helpful Filipino CSR.
I haven't got any emails, but she confirmed my St George and AMEX transfers are manual and tracked, and even though I called Westpac to force a transfer before my auto transfer date, it shows in their system as an auto transfer...
Alright guys, I'm confused. I thought it was only manual transfer. I've done the following:
Transferred 96k Amplify to 48K VF + 20% bonus, on 24/11/2023
Transferred 280k AMEX to 140k VF + 20% bonus, on 25/12/2023
Now for January, I have a Westpac Velocity card. This silly card does not...
Just want to clarify with someone better at math than myself.
Now that St George and AMEX have devalued Krisflyer conversion from 2:1 to 3:1, if you still have points in those cards is it better to use this promotion and then put the future KF miles in a holding pattern in your Velocity...
So I don't have EF subscription at the moment.
This year I flew like star alliance RTW using EF to search for I class availability to build my itinerary. I would search for a routes and then award availability plus or minus 3 days.
Is that feature now gone? Because I have amex miles to...
Most important site besides flightconnections is expertflyer. EF is the more important one, but it's a one-two punch.
I'm sitting in Bogota now in my RTW. I quickly ticketed SYD-HND-MEX as only way to get across the Pacific, then South America is a PITA as no backtracking and no Avianca...
It was extremely hard to find availability although I was able to change my route to when I liked better but at all times it is an incredible amount of hard work.
You have to be very dedicated, have a lot of time put aside and be very flexible because the rules are very inflexible. Leaving...
I just got this card, approved pretty much instantly, not even a single payslip. Why can't every application be so easy? I'm still kicking myself that I missed out on the 325,000 offer earlier this year, but I was still in the 18 months sin bin.
Just want to update this thread, as I now have booked a RTW (SYD-HND/NRT-MEX-PTY-CNF/GRU-IST-xJED-BKK-MEL) using my 280k KF miles and have 1 point left in my account :)
I actually didn't have enough KF miles until I transferred a chunk of spare Velocity miles @ 1.55:1 so for something like AMEX...
I managed to ticket my RTW but it was a real hassle with the rules. Especially the 35,000 mile rule. If you are starting out going PER-SYD it's going to really be a struggle. I suggest you use points or pay to position yourself in SYD if that is where you want to start. However being in...
I've just spent 3 days planning things before calling the call centre and I'm not even done.
A problem cropped up when I told them my route, because the only way for me to find award flights on a potential route, was to include one downgrade to economy between BOG-EZE.
However, the agent says...
I was on Virgin Velocity promo which was nice because I used some of that to fly SIA economy back from Asia, after using KF miles to fly biz to Asia.
Now I'm with Suncorp: Suncorp Clear Options Platinum Credit Card: 130,000 Bonus Points after $3,000 Spend within 90 Days of Approval, $129...
