SYD - BNE. Booked on a 2pm flight saver fare. Arrived at VA lounge at 8.15am and got on the 9am flight.

Yes I have done two BNE to SIN return flights booked on SQ website and put in my VA number. The SC's took no longer than 2 days to show up. In 2 sectors they showed up next day. First trip was in Jan this year and last trip was in Aug this year.

Being a red or silver won't get you on the KF Gold SIN lounge anyway. But I do agree I don't bother going in to that lounge in SIN much prefer to stay outside looking around Changi. Now VA gold or platinum will get you in to the HK SilverKris lounge which is great - another level altogether...

After several years in Gold I have one more sector to fly to finally reach 1000 SC and hit Platinum. Reading the exploits of others on how easy it was for them to get Platinum with Family Pooling and long haul J flights etc got me wondering. I will hit 1005 SC in 2 days time with 44 sectors...

For the record - I was on a 777 and in seat 28B. No meal though.

I'm a VA Gold flying BNE-AKL. Booked through VA website on AirNZ metal. Purchased a Saver Lite fare. On checkin they upgraded me to Premium Economy. Love it :) Hope they do the same on return leg :)
