Hi Everyone. After taking advice from the posters on this forum I have amassed a healthy 220k QFF points in the past year. The advice I have received from this forum has been invaluable. So after reaching this milestone I now find myself asking what to do with these points? My dream would be...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

I agree 100%. I am certain a Syrian can travel to Dubai no questions asked despite the holocaust happening in that country. Similarly there is no policy against Chinese travelling there despite its brutal occupation of Tibet. So ask yourself the question why is it Israelis who are singled out...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

haha- yes it has gone a bit off track but I am merely stating why I wouldnt want to pass through there. I have an opinion of the place and so do others but its just my personal belief that it is not as 'liberal' as others say it is. Everyone has made some valid points though.

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

I believe that there is a specific policy against academics (of which I am one) and literature of authors (of which I am one) of the Jewish religion. I also believe that the anti-zionist polcy of the UAE government as it does in many other countries overflows into an anti-jewish feeling as...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

Whic is worrying because it seems to single out academics and literature written by authors based solely on their religion as opposed to their nationality. This is why I will not travel through there. Markis10 raises some very interesting points about the passport issue though.

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

Whereas I dont subscribe to Wikipedia as being the definitive argument, I do know the following extract taken from Wikipedia is true: Attitudes to Jews in recent history In recent years the United Arab Emirates has adopted an anti-semitic policy toward Jewish academics and authors from other...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

SeatBackForward- I see your point but I dont think it is the crux of the problem. My name does not sound Jewish so I probably wouldnt have a problem but I do have multiple Israeli passport stamps which which identify me which may cause an issue. Indeed I have several firends that have recently...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

Apologies I should refer to it as an anti-jewish policy. The anti-zionist policy has over flowed into a clear anti-jewish feeling in the state. There is plenty of evidence of this with my policies on academics and Jewish literature being completely banned. It would be naive to say that a Jew is...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

Saying the UAE is very open and liberal in comparison to some of the other countries mentioned does not mean anything. The country is just as bad as all the others mentioned when it comes to Jewish passengers. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are similar (SA being slightly more conservative) but Delta...

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

Thanks markis10- well in that case in response to the original question posed (I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???), I choose not fly via Dubai because of it anti-gay and anti-semitic policies.

I choose not to fly via Dubai. OK, but why ???

am I right so say that Jewish passengers who have Israeli passport stamps will not be allowed to leave the airport and have to stay in transit? If this is true, as a Jew I find this discriminatory and why would I possibly ever want to go to a place like this?

Woolworths Qantas card now offers 20,000 QFF [Ends 30/4/13] points

Hi Guys I am on a mission to rack up as many QFF points as I can after stumbling upon this site and realising that there are more ways then just flying that can get me points. Since mid Feb of this year I have managed to rack up about 55,000 points as follows: Flights- 15,000 Bonus points-...
