Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

Platinum Edge cardholder since 2012. Called to cancel. No retention bonus offered. Only option was to go down to fee free essentials card. Further I was told that this card cannot be reinstated even within 30 days. Not being able to reinstate card, has anyone had experience with this?

Citibank quick cash with $100 gift card

I am not sure I understand. The T&C’s clearly call out that payments are applied to instalment and/or interest charges first and then to card spending. So if the payment is only applied to the instalment due, why do you think that the entire FPO is discharged? FYI I have done multiple FPO’s and...

Citibank quick cash with $100 gift card

Don't need to worry about any of that here as this is a Fixed Payment Offer so what happens is that Citibank treats the $2500 or the amount you withdraw separately and this doesn't impact your spending. So for instance if you have $15k limit and withdraw 2.5k, you now have 12.5k for normal...

Citibank quick cash with $100 gift card

Got a bunch of offers earlier in the year and took up all of them after carefully reading through the T&C's. Didn't encounter any issues and have paid all off. All up had 6 offers each offering $100 GC. In total paid $106.58 in interest/fee so came out $493.42 ahead. This is linked to exiting...

    New Amex statement credits

I ended up visiting about 4 BP servos before I found one which stocked gift cards. This was BP Coburg but the problem was the attended did not know how to split transactions. Finally found BP Preston where they stocked GC's and the attendant knew how to split the transaction, so I bought 2x$200...

ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Called ANZ balance transfer team on 1800 007 511 and asked if any balance transfer deal was available to me as an existing customer. The CSR asked if I was willing to sign up for a new card, on declining that he immediately offered me 16 month 0% BT.

    Balances transfers - How often

I am currently on my initial 0% for 6 months utilizing the family and friends deal. Last night another 0% for 6 months offer appeared in IB. It would worth checking your IB offers if you are in the market for BT.
