Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

They changed it again? I remember AV was giving me zero results for J availability (but was checking sometime in June), They might have changed inventory release rules meh. Good to know!

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

Tough luck getting J... Rule of thumb all SQ Australia/NZ-Sin flights show zero J inventory to partners until 14 days before flying. But if AC is showing availability then call in to check. You might get lucky.

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

I didn't say it was all under the same ticket. Cost me 60k AS, 265k AA and 20k UA miles.

Followed it up this year with MEL-SYD-BKK-KIX-PVG-AMS-AUH-SIN-KUL-NRT/HND-CGK-SIN-BKK-MEL. Had to get back to SIN for Chinese New Year. Next year for Chinese New Year thinking of MEL-SIN-HKG-TPE-HKG-CAN-DOH-CAI-AUH-BOM-SIN-HKG-PVG-KIX-BKK-SYD-MEL or something similar. EY A380 (AUH-BOM), QR...

Release of One World award seats

CX releases a ton of unsold inventory about 1 month before flying. Check now for flights in October and you'll see quite a fair bit. Not unusual to look for July space now and see zilch, but then in June you'll see them release 6 seats for award booking for July. Better to let them get redeemed...

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

I wish I could. But I prefer maximising time in the air and collecting stashes of swag, while most people usually want the most efficient route. I could go SYD-BKK-NRT-ICN-TPE if I wanted to, with overnights in BKK, TPE and ICN, but some people would want the most direct flights and I'd curse...

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

About 4 years? That's how long I've been booking it... Been forcing my flights through BKK each year for the quintessential full body massage complimentary to TG F pax. Started the hobby in 2012 trying to get back to SIN from ORD for cheap at the conclusion of my Masters degree. Flew...

bang for buck USA LAX to JFK

Which is precisely why I didn't bother replying.

bang for buck USA LAX to JFK

Too vague. How many connections do you want? What class of service are you looking at? You could easily do a LAX-JFK nonstop, or a LAX-DFW-MIA-JFK or LAX-SEA-ORD-JFK to bounce around from airport to airport.

    Etihad chauffeur

The limo service desk is at T3, just outside the EY check-in area. Pretty easy. Go there and let them know that you've got chauffeur service booked.

Try it in MEL first. Bourke St!

    Challenge - Flights to Palau!

The cheapest 1 Michelin star restaurant in the world. Melbourne has a branch but it ain't half as good as the HK ones. You could use United. Just don't book MEL-GUM. Break it into a multicity eg MEL-PVG and PVG-GUM, for example.

    Best use of Avios?

The longer the flight gets, the less the value of the Avios. 2 weeks ago my dad went to SYD for work and decided to pop by MEL for the weekend before going home... Dutifully booked him a 9k J BA Avios ticket SYD-MEL one way on QF, less than 24h before flying. In that instance the Avios would...

    Etihad chauffeur

I've never actually called to book chauffeur. I just email the customer centre with my reservation PNR and tell them that I'd like to use the chauffeur service. Done deal.

No worries. I've been studying MileagePlus for quite a bit. Though I haven't really posted here much until recently.

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

Or what you could do would be to spend 10k more miles to go to North Asia. Think something like MEL-PVG/PEK-NRT/HND-ICN-SZX or MEL-AKL-PVG-ICN-SZX (flying the NZ 787-9 for 12h is worth the 40k, though trans-Tasman flights on NZ do not offer any business award space whatsoever) for 40k, take a...

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

:D Thanks. 2 more months to go before I finish my PhD here in MEL! I'm always thinking of Kazakhstan as a nice stop #landofborat but it's so darn difficult to get there. Have also exhausted my DL mileage stash else I could pull a 40k routing outta ALA to get a Delft house and a haircut in London :(

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

Ah yes. But otherwise perfectly logical still.

Using UA Miles especially on SQ : Is there a paid expert service?

It's "perfectly logical" because it can be booked through the system (well, SQ flights need to be booked over the phone). But it satisfies the maximum 4 connections per direction rule and does not step into the North Asia, Japan or Central Asia regions. Back then in 2012 they did allow me to...
