Article: Australia-USA Flights at 50% of Pre-COVID Capacity

It is all related to price and supply/demand. If the prices came down substantially demand would increase, perhaps Qantas is not in a position to increase the number of flights and accept a lower yield, in the meantime it is losing market share.

QF Survey of new WP/P1 / post LTG benefits

Another factor that doesn't seem to carry much weight with Qantas is longevity of membership. My Qantas FF number is 4 digits and I have been a Qantas Club member continuously since the first 6 months of operation, currently Platinum FF. Other organisations like American Express do give some...

Woeful Virgin Australia Velocity FF [Customer] Service in comparison with Qantas FF

Re: Woeful Virgin Australia Velocity FF [Customer] Service in comparison with Qantas The point is simple, I have been a Gold VA ff for many years. Last year I still flew on average twice a month Syd-Mel. Many of those flights were redeemed with VA ff points, including a business class from DFW...

Woeful Virgin Australia Velocity FF [Customer] Service in comparison with Qantas FF

Re: Woeful Virgin Australia Velocity FF [Customer] Service in comparison with Qantas I am also a Centurion member with Amex and I paid for the flights to Europe and was credited with the points on my EY FF status not VA. I actually booked and paid for business, but Amex have a deal with EY...

Woeful Virgin Australia Velocity FF [Customer] Service in comparison with Qantas FF

I have been a VA Gold FF for many years and I have offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. When I fly between Sydney and Melbourne (as I do 2 or 3 times a month) it is usually at short notice, and I take the cheapest economy fare I can get for the one hour flight. Longer flights e.g Perth and...

Fly ahead - with a fee

It sounds like a furphy to me! I agree with tobes, if you arrive early enough for a flight to catch a prior one with only carry-on, then it makes perfect sense (for the carrier) to put you in an empty seat, and potentially free up a later saleable seat. I have had this happen on numerous...

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

I will only fly Y if I can get an exit row, but I try and avoid it!

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

Yes, the BKK flight was on a 330. I found the seats more comfortable than the refurbished seats on the 767.

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

Thank you for clarifying the situation re the refurb. I normally fly even longer distances to Europe or the US mainland, and even on a recent Q flight to Thailand on an Airbus the seats in J were acceptable. I agree with you that these 767 seats are unacceptable for J class and I will never ever...

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

With due respect are you over 1.8 m tall and have you been on a flight where the passenger in front has had the seat mostly in the fully reclined position? I am a loyal Q customer (Platinum) and this is the first time I have had such an uncomfortable flight in business class.

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

We were told by the Flight Service Director (a delightful man), that it was so new they had not yet installed the ipads because the charging station was not yet installed. We were also told the interior of the plane had been completely refurbished not just reupholstered, and that a decision had...

Qantas refurbished 767 QF4 on HNL SYD

I am a QFF Platinum member and yesterday travelled from HNL on a newly refurbished 767 in Business. Ambience was OK. Seats are supposedly redesigned by Marc Newson however pitch is so short that if the person in front fully reclines a taller person behind cannot do the same because there is...

APEC card into Dallas with Family

I am a very frequent flyer to DFW and also have an APEC card. Whether to to use it or not may not be an issue at DFW since unlike most of the other US airports I have rarely encountered a delay of more than 10 minutes in getting through immigration (flying in on the non-stop Q flight from Sydney).
