Just re-reading the email, the fine print says " Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn points and Status credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award. For details..." Doesn't this suggest Any Seat Awards are still able to be booked?

So the email subject would be better stated: "It's about avoiding bankruptcy" That would have been better received!

Tickets booked through a travel agent (which is likely if employer booked it) can't be changed through Qantas - the "Change" button isn't even displayed on the booking (until check-in). And, of course, your employer likely booked cheapest available fare, which very likely isn't in an upgradable...

On both my international flights last week (QF7+QF108), the Y amenity kit (toothbrush+eye-shades) was not provided. I had to ask, and they gave me one from Y+.

I received the same "tip" - I think it's a standard email for each month. How hard would it be to have tier-targeted tips? Had to laugh - how do you think I got Platinum status without knowing the full Terms and Conditions, let alone one single and obvious aspect?!
