SQ F lounge options & guest policy.

I have guested a colleague into the F Lounge at Changi, numerous times. Have not used the SQ Lounge in Melbourne, despite flying out of there regularly, so not sure what the go is there. Will be testing the access policy at the F Lounge at Heathrow this evening

    Connecting family in DXB

Thanks moa999, that was exactly what I was trying to figure out. Lounge would be preferable (all in J and F), but they have a 90 min connection, so departure gate is looking like the safest bet. Cheers.

    Connecting family in DXB

Thanks Pushka. I fly through DXB a couple of times a year, but mostly for work and on my own - so i generally just work out where my boarding gate is and head for the nearest lounge. You're right it is vast and chaotic (although it has improved from a few years ago), which is why I was trying to...

    Connecting family in DXB

Hi fellow AFFs, I have a question regarding connections in Dubai that I am hoping someone can help me with. My family of four is taking a short trip to Europe next week - all flying on EK in J, but on different flights. We depart MEL on two different flights, before meeting up in DXB and going...

LAX transfer time - VA to DL

I did MEL-LAX-JFK with VA and DL three times last year (and am doing it again tomorrow). Each time a 2 hour connection has been plenty. The new photo/fingerprint kiosks at passport control seem to have sped things up considerably. As one of the other posters said, the biggest risk of delay is at...

    LAX layover lounge access

Thanks Serfty, am I right that if I land at T2 and stay airside, I won't have to go through security? I can just hop on the bus from one terminal to another? I'm sure I did this a few weeks back when transferring from DL to VA (T2 to TBIT), or does each terminal have it's own security check...

    LAX layover lounge access

Thanks again, at least I should have plenty of time to find out! Will report back.

    LAX layover lounge access

Thank you CP - that is exactly the advice I was after. I thought I could do what you suggest, but wasn't sure if DL would deny me access in T2/3, because my departing flight was leaving from TBIT on VA. I was in the T2 SkyClub four weeks ago, going in the other direction (LAX-DCA) and I would...

    LAX layover lounge access

Thanks Serfty, I'll be coming from JFK and assume I will be checked through from there - I was 3 weeks ago when I last did this trip - so (hopefully) no need to check in at T2. Last time, I was on the 3.30pm out of JFK - which was delayed by 100 mins - meaning I had to sprint from the airbridge...

    LAX layover lounge access

Thanks Henrus Really appreciste the detailed response. I’ll be coming in to T2 via Delta from JFK, and Lounge Buddy is indicating I will have access to the Delta Sky Club Lounge. Assuming my luggage is checked through and I get both BPs when I check in at JFK, I’m hoping I may be able to...

    Best J seats MEL-LAX VA 777

Thanks Denali, appreciate you taking the time to respond and agree with your assessment. I had 3A three weeks ago and loved it, but it's not available on my upcoming flight so exploring other options - including those further forward!

    New VA App

I hope this is correct. Right now it seems like a beta version, with much less functionality than the last version. No ability to manage bookings, seat selection etc. Or track points crediting and accumulation. Admit it does seem faster, but one would hope so seeing it (currently) does a lot less.

    Best J seats MEL-LAX VA 777

Yep. Had a similar thing happen when QF introduced the new 1-2-1 'business suites' configuration on the A330 MEL-HKG route. Spent way too much time selecting, changing my mind and reselecting my seats...only to board and find there had been a late aircraft change and we were in the old angled...

    LAX layover lounge access

Hi folks, Have a six hour layover at LAX on the way back from JFK to MEL. I am VA Platinum and will be flying in J. I understand this gives me access to the EK Lounge, but I can't find a consistent view of its opening hours. I arrive at 1500 LA time and fly out at 2100. Does anyone know what...

    Best J seats MEL-LAX VA 777

Thanks Pauly7, it's a good tip. Might have just been lucky on my last flight - I didn't bother popping in on the return leg (LAX-MEL) as I found it a bit cramped and being an overnight flight, sleep was the number one priority. Don't suppose you have flown in 1A and have any views?

    Best J seats MEL-LAX VA 777

Thanks JSM, appreciate your insights. Agree it’s hard to go wrong on this flight (I probably shouldn’t over think it!). I took the SYD-LAX flight three weeks ago and the bar was not used a great deal. I spent about half an hour there chatting to one other passenger, who like me, just wanted a...
