Thanks for all the replys. I actually made an error with my booking and have myself departing a day later than I should be. Don't particularly want to pay all the change fees so guess I'll just take a chance and see how I go.

Wondering if anyone has ever had any luck with getting moved to an earlier flight on the day prior to the original departure using the Fly Ahead benefit? I know that by rights it is meant to be same day travel, but wasn't sure whether they will bend the rules occassionally. Cheers.

Ended up being in business seating on the way there, and then on the way back received the same seat again. Certainly can't complain about that.

Just went to check-in for my flight tomorrow morning and have noticed that my seat assignment has been changed from 3D to 2D. Does this by any chance mean that they've moved me in to Business Seating?

Does anyone know whether Gold's are usually still upgraded to an Executive Room at HSW since the recent changes? I have always been upgraded, even a couple of times to a Yarra Suite, but am not sure whether this is still normal?

I think finding a 'cousin' who is willing to give me the points will be the best option, even if I do have to give them a few dollars for their time and effort..
