I was traveling with CP from BKK to SIN on my birthday some years ago in Y, and when I checked in the staff said they would like to upgrade me to J! Wow, I was very surprised to enjoy a nice J lunch service. :)

If airlines are basically retailers, so could you imagine a shop or department store selling you a product with all those negative and restrictive conditions? Sadly, the ACCC has proved to be a bit of a toothless dog on many issues, let's hope they do better this time.

I always prefer the upper-deck on the B747, because in the J downstairs, there is the annoying stomping, back and forward, from the rear cabin, by the FA's throughout the flight! What's that all about? :-(

I received my "Classic" card from Airberlin today 5/12/16, I have a feeling I have missed out on the Silver thing, even though I think I applied within the time limit. Time shall tell. :-)

Qantas emailed me about the time change on my reward return flight from BKK in August 2017, and my travel agent emailed me about a time change to my Haneda flight in April 2017. I guess they are responding to schedule changes in the coming months.

Very interesting that you should say that JohnK. I would never go via HKG, but I have done both SIN and KUL. But because I prefer daylight flights to BKK, I find QF23 best, as I have another 2 hour bus trip to get me to my hotel at a reasonable time and to be able to go out for dinner that...
