Do linear dimensions matter for checked luggage when flying to Europe in business?

My question is around checked baggage, not cabin baggage. This is where the policy is explained: Checked Baggage | Singapore Airlines I believe the below only applies to the US (piece concept) but it’s not 100% clear: “The sum of length, width and height of each checked baggage must not...

Do linear dimensions matter for checked luggage when flying to Europe in business?

I have a large suitcase just over 82cm and I know in terms of linear dimensions, it’s approx 170cm. I’ve booked a Singapore Air flight between Syd and Europe in business class and there are some linear restrictions mentioned as a footnote on my ticket but that only seems to apply to flights...

Reduced AMEX earn rates from April 2019

Assuming the bonus points will be (co-)funded by the airlines, it could well be that some have reached out to AmEx agreeing on less $ per points in return for higher overall transactions. For an airline’s loyalty scheme, it seems to me that promotions and major overhauls like this are a nice way...

Reduced AMEX earn rates from April 2019

Is anyone expecting AmEx to run another bonus points promotion before the devaluation kicks in next month? Has there ever been a Krisflyer one, similar to Velocity, where you can get up to 15%/20% extra points?

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

Answering my own question, Qantas was unable/unwilling to check through my luggage. Getting a supervisor involved and showing the internal note did not make a difference. Very frustrating and thus a complete waste of points!

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

The most recent comments (also from people who brought a print out of the doc) show mixed results (staff saying that the doc is no longer the current policy) but they're all from a few months ago. I was hoping to hear about some more recent experiences.

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

Any more experiences with checking through luggage between OneWorld carriers? I've got the following trip booked for later this month (2 PNRs) and am hoping Qantas will play nice and not make me collect and check-in luggage again in ADL: SYD-ADL: QF award booking ADL-DOH: QR cash booking

American Express Explorer Referrals now live - 110,000 points!

Just ring them, get them to confirm your eligibility and then kindly ask them if they can prioritise the points for you. I told them I had my eyes on a redemption flight and was hoping to book asap. I did this and got the points in a matter of hours (and then transferred them out).

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

3 or 4 hours in my case.

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

Re: The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Ca Why does it have to be done over the phone? You should be able to redeem your Explorer credit online. I believe the (dated) AmEx travel portal is powered by Orbitz. What sort of rates do you get when booking through Orbitz directly? It's quite normal...

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

The Explorer defaults to Gateway so if it's no longer linked to another AmEx, it will be Gateway. If you want to verify, either use the mobile app and check (on the home screen) in the grey box. It's right above your points balance (but you may need to spend something first). Alternatively...

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

Is that before or after the $395 card fee? If your $395 cadr fee is part of your $1,500 spend, perhaps spend another $400 or so first?

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

Consensus, no. But I'll send you a PM with the steps I took (I did get the 100k points and already had a PE like you).

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

I guess this means you don't keep a copy of your previous cc statements? Do you use a tool like Pocketbook to sync your spend? Have you tried logging in to your (old) Amex account? There are a few cases (myself included) of people who did get the bonus points despite not meeting the 18 month...

American Express Explorer Referrals now live - 110,000 points!

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Would it be any different for you if you were to receive this promotion in the mail, addressing you personally ('Hi ovetravellingoz, we have a special offer for you ...'), with the same small print? I guess you would feel pretty mislead. For me, it's not any...

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

Mine had the $395 on there when I first activated the card but I've heard of quite a few situations similar to yours. I'd be happy if they were to charge me late rather than early! Have you got access to your $400 travel credit though?

That's correct! Have clarified that now in my earlier post. Thanks.

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

Not necessarily, I rang up first to de-link. So that rep had seen my 2 accounts under 1 name. I then started using the Explorer card. It wasn't until at least a week later that I rang up to enquire about the Explorer card and the missing points. At that stage, the cards were obviously de-linked...

The Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)

I simply share my experience and try to make some sense under what circumstances one may get the points. Also, in terms of evidence, I already mentioned the screenshot I took. It's misleading advertising to serve up an offer to someone who has identified himself (ie an existing card member) to...
