    Earn points on Bank Transfers

Sorry my brain just switched on (its been one of those weeks) and realised my answer didnt make sense... My minimum spend is 7k within 3 months in exchange for 150k CitiRewards points (another 50k will land 12 months after account is opened). There was a better offer elsewhere (10k more for an...

    Earn points on Bank Transfers

I get that but im prepared to swallow the fee as my limit is relatively low anyway; im doing it moreso to help me meet the min spend at the get go and get to a points balance that will help pay for a Euro holiday next year.

    Earn points on Bank Transfers

I got approved for the Prestige card yesterday and I noticed that early this morning, Citi sent me a statement for the card covering all of yesterday. Does that mean that moving forward, my statement period is from the 20th of the previous month to the 21st of the current month, or am I way off...

    Pay up or buy points?

Thanks for that markis10. I have signed up to USDM and waiting for the 'block' to be lifted before I can start buying points. I'm still flexible on where to fly into and out from as my mate is being indecisive although he prefers to fly in to Heathrow so I'll have to work around that.

    Pay up or buy points?

That is still one of the options (but kind of a last one as I had stupidly assumed that I can still earn points by doing it that way when it isnt the case) apart from keeping an eye on Skyscanner et al every few days. Last night I was on Skyscanner and saw a J fare to FRA with Asiana via ICN for...

    Pay up or buy points?

Hey guys, So I havent been here for god knows how long but now that I'm looking like finally graduating from university, the prospect of more travel awaits (so long as my hip pocket can stomach the pain) and thus I need your collective wisdom and criticism. Me and a mate from high school...

Will Thai Smile make me smile? A TR on TG's new offshoot

As promiised, some more photos from the first leg: J class on Thai Smile is essentially a block of 3-4 rows sealed off by a curtain; these rows have a higher pitch than the rest of the seats behind and the middle seats are never sold so you are always guaranteed a free seat beside you. In my...

Will Thai Smile make me smile? A TR on TG's new offshoot

Apologies for the long long gap between posts but I've been busy with exams and also had to deal with the fact that when I came back, I was told that my position at work will be abolished next year and I had to choose either redundancy or try my luck with the new position that will replace the...

Will Thai Smile make me smile? A TR on TG's new offshoot

Well, who would have thought that buying a business class ticket is cheaper than paying for two seats in Y?? That's what exactly happened when I was looking at flights to Krabi from Bangkok but I wont be flying TG's regional J product; I will be flying with its new's offshoot Thai Smile and...

Bangkok to Singapore the long way round

Flight 1: SQ232 dep 12:15 arr: 17:40 actual arr:17:25 Got to the airport at 0830 from the northern suburbs of Sydney via the long way around and then proceeded to do a bit of luggage shuffling i.e. trying to find my USB charger. Went to queue up for check-in and spent around 30 mins mainly due...

Bangkok to Singapore the long way round

A quick update: its now almost one week to go and I'm still 'wrangling' with SQ regarding seat assignment. I couldn't log in and change the assignment myself as I booked it through the ticketing office directly and the website keeps saying the shadow isn't ticketed yet. I've managed to score an...

Which loyalty program for self funded travelling ?

Apologies to the OP if I am sidetracking the thread, but in my case, I decided to join Miles&Bonus (Aegean Air's program) because they have a relatively low threshold system. So long as you fly any Star Alliance carrier (Singapore, Air NZ, Thai, etc) you can earn points towards the program (even...

Bangkok to Singapore the long way round

So..this is my first crack at writing a TR so forgive me for any slip-ups or stuff-ups. I will be writing it on a leg by leg basis as much as I can starting with the background prep leading to the actual experiences onboard planes, trains, and buses, and finally onto the accomodation and a...

Best and Worst [travel gadgets/items you have ever purchased]

Best: believe it or not..a $9.99 headphone adapter. I can now forget using those coughpy Y headsets and use my own earbuds (not proper NC but does block out majority of the irritating noise). I'll also throw in my iPad in here just for the simple reason that I can watch Mrs. Slocombe talk about...

    Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Re: QF97 Y 23AB seating I'm looking at either flying QF2 17-10-12 SIN-SYD or QF320/BA15 on the same date and im wondering how are the loadings in Y and J (will ask how likely is a points upgrade in the proper thread).

Booking Two seats + upgrade question

Thanks for the replies JohnK and ozbeachbabe. I'm starting to think that the guy I spoke to was a bit too eager to get me to do it there and then seeing its is EOFY and wants to boost his booking value up. On the same note, another thought came up; on the A330-300 which QF now uses on SYD-BKK...

Booking Two seats + upgrade question

Before deciding to post this thread, I have done some research on booking two seats for one person but I still have some questions regarding the matter as I'm about to decide whether to use QF or SQ to fly SYD-BKK-SIN-SYD: If I use QF, do I need to book both seats via the contact centre or...
