    Loud snoring

I snore too, and when I'm flying a red eye from Darwin and I have been awake since 4:45 (for work) I'm sure it's not pleasant for others. But there's nothing I can do about it. I'm certainly not going to try and stay awake. I've had others snore next to me on flights but I just stick the...

JB now looking after status matches.

Having lived in Perth recently I have to say the author of the article is quite correct on that front, in my humble opinion. You are welcome to feel similarly about Sydney if you like :-)

What an enlightened view of women. Be still my beating heart (rolls eyes)....

    GHA - My Experience

I am a platinum member (soon to be black) and really enjoy it. Usually get an upgraded room and a welcome present (chocolates or sparkling) and I like the hotels. I used a couple of the experiences in Switzerland last December and basically ended up with the (lovely) concierge at one of the...

    Travelling for Work [Ethics] Question

As a manager I don't want tired employees at work. There are fatigue issues even in an office. I would expect them to stay at home resting for half a day and then come in for the second half or work from home later in the day (usually only for employees I know will actually do some work).

    Iceland in December

I haven't been to Iceland (although it is near the top of my "next trip" list). However I am looking at a Northern Lights Tour this European winter also. There are lots of them in Scandinavia and I have primarily been looking at Norway. Make sure you do as much research as possible as reviews...

VA J Catering Rant... "Cheese Platter"

Yes the meal "service" on DJ J sucks basically. I love the room and the seats and the wine, and the staff are usually great, but QANTAS kicks butt on the food every time. And the entertainment. One of my favourite things about flying QF J is the food and wine, and I would really love it to be...

    Sunshine Coast Restaurants.

My parents took me here during a recent visit: http://www.chezclaude.com.au/ Small local French restaurant in Woombye. As someone who usually dines at top Sydney and Melbourne restaurants, I was extremely impressed with both the quality and (certainly) the value. I wasn't expecting that at...

Maintain Status Offers Plat/Gold Silver (Two return flights or other)‏

I requalified for Plat a few months after a status match. If they offered me some similar impetus to achieve partner gold I would definitely do it! BTW - exactly how many points do I need (in total) for a partner gold? I have had about ten flights this last fortnight and would gladly share some...

Are you a child of the world or just your home town?

"child of the world". Have moved house well over 50 times, and never know what to say to the oft asked question "where are you from?". I usually say "everywhere" or "nowhere" depending on how many wines I have had..... Wouldn't change a thing though!!

    London hotel recommendation.

I can't agree more with amaroo. These hotels are fantastic and I always stay at the Soho if possible. Fantastic location and wonderful hotel.

Maintain Velocity Platinum - how long for you?

    Status within Status ???

I could be wrong (am currently jet lagged) but is that a shadow issue? Maybe call up and link the bookings?

Adelaide Hotel Room/Apartment-2 bathrooms, 2 couples

Yes Medina is in good location, very close to Gouger Street restaurants. The hotel itself has a nice little bar and a big inside courtyard for coffee etc. Quite nice rooms, good staff and all the regular stuff. I haven't stayed for a while but remember that my only small gripe was that they...

    Opt out of CSM greeting??

I used to fly the 747 PER-SYD every week and the CSM always gave a personal greeting on that flight. Unfortunately I hardly ever got a greeting (always in front row Y with a shadow), as I apparently look like a guy, however my name is clearly female. They would welcome the people around me...

Australia to UK - Etihad / Virgin experiences?

I flew J on Etihad from LHR to SYD a couple of months ago. I've flown plenty of QF J internationally. QF is better overall, but Etihad is still very good. Great seats/beds, nice staff, good food and decent lounges. My only real gripe was that the food choices ran out very early for dinner, and...

    Another double SC promo already?

Got my offer on Tuesday. Very nice. I was status matched but qualified again for Platinum in January. Pity it doesn't apply to Etihad as I am about to book another J return to LHR and am trying to decide who to go with!!

P1 Gazumping the front row of whY

I am only a WP but pretty much always get first row economy - and usually a shadow. But unless I have a meeting directly after my flight I'm sure I would be one of those people that you may be assuming has no status :-) I agree that the front rows should only be released to Golds and above at...

Domestic Qantas Club and Business Lounges

I agree. Most people I know, love spicy food. Whenever I cook, I offer a spicy and non spicy option. I'm sure the lounges could do the same.
