    QF First Lounge in Singapore

Not just the SIN lounge, this is a feature of all QF J napkins - and one I enthusiastically wear. Regards, BD

AFR Article - Joe Aston goes BAM!

What … “lemmings” …?? Seriously, the quoted post related to people and preferences with respect to flying QR. I’d suggest my response was totally in keeping with that. Regards, BD 1712209990 Then additional reasons to avoid SYD. Now, if only QF would facilitate that!! Regards, BD

AFR Article - Joe Aston goes BAM!

Nothing to do with NP lettuce (non) mix. Some “lemmings” avoid QR for a number of reasons, not least its treatment of staff and the whole issue of how QR/Doha Airport Authorities treated a plane load of female passengers. Rather pick up AY via SE Asia than trust QR “care”. Regards, BD

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

MEL-SYD-AKL-SYD-MEL Same as others above, booked during the March 2023 DSC offer. 40+85+85+40 SCs for (an inflated compared with previous years) $2012 or $8/SC all fares in D Class. Obviously the DSC halves this cost. Original Itinerary had me flying QF406/QF145/QF148/QF497 in December 2023...

FINNAIR - new Business Class AirLounge seat

I've yet to see anyone comment that they've found this seat supportive of extended working with laptop etc ... I know I struggle with this aspect (or any aspect of an upright, straight posture). Considering this is situated in AY's J cabin are AY targetting primarily monied leisure travellers...

AFR Article - Joe Aston goes BAM!

Really? Scope 1 carbon emissions still at (roughly) 83% of their 2019 figures, with net emissions *targetted* to reduce by only 25% by 2030 and and net zero only by 2050. It also recognised market pressures on the offset price hitting the company's bottom line risking those targets. (2023...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Why would you expect a celebrity caterer whose idea of a salad is three green leaves to be able to be able to coach the consistent preparation of a steak? Hopefully he will be "enhanced" under the new regime. Regards, BD

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

I've always judged an airline on its ability to handle IROPS - so an airline that recognizes its ability to work when there are extenuating circumstances. That may mean having capability to switch airframes, offer alternative routes. The advent of a 7hour delay on a trunk domestic route says to...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

This latest flight was booked November last year ... I have LTG and am seriously considering not using QF next EU trip. Regards, BD

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

I think we're starting to get bogged into the technicalities of EU261. Although my intent was to highlight that 261 may be relevant in some instances it was also the intent that this thread triggers a discussion on what we - as passengers - can request to overcome excessive delays. But back to...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

Why does it make a difference whether that contract is written by AY or QF (the question my response was to)? The key here is the *operating* airline out of the UK/EU. From a company perspective they *should* be made aware to care. Under EU261: 2. An operating air carrier denying boarding or...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

Yes, all one PNR/ticket. Finnair (105-) issued - though I don't think that makes any difference? I did offer that by going the downgrade path I was saving QF EU261 compensation; zero response/recognition from the far side of the desk. I would suggest this is a training issue rather than...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

Unlike the ACCC thread which - initially anyway - looked at the ethos behind Qantas strategically cancelling flights weeks in advance but continued to sell seats on them, I'm hoping to provide a bit of a warning as well as discuss tactical examples of last minute cancellations and options...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF82 SIN-SYD 25-Oct-23 I understand that this is now deemed a "supper service" out of Singapore and that the expectation is that most will have eaten in the Lounges pre-flight. So - why do QF insist on serving a "snack" (as the schnitzel is defined on other sectors) and not a dedicated supper...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF127 SYD-HKG 28-SEP-23 (apologies for the delay in posting, just back from UK ... more on the return later) Boarding was via a Bus Gate being the most notable element of the flight. Thought the food offerings were actually quite decent. Had breakfasted previously in the F Lounge so had no need...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Finnair (AY) are generally good - though having just done 4 J sectors with them I do feel their F&B offerings are really starting to slip. Relevant to wanderer_au: rumour has it that it is mostly Buy On Board in AY Y outside of standard meal package whereas others in OW still provide included...
