OH YES!!! SYD-HKG-CDG on an A380 all the way gets a massive THUMBS UP from me. It'd be nice not having to go to London only to back-track to the mainland by Eurostar or connect in DXB from QF A380 to EK's mixed bag of B777 and A380 services (am I the only person who doesn't like EK J?)

My significant other (who routinely floats between QC Bronze & Silver) can only access seats from the middle to the back of whichever cabin we're travelling in if the booking is done through his FF login, so even as a WP1 being booked as the 2nd passenger on the itinerary we cant access seats...

I always make a point of deciding and agreeing on this before leaving the lounge with any colleagues or staff on the same flight. Generally, if its the end of the trip and we're all heading in our own directions we bid farewell in the lounge before boarding so there's no need to delay each...

+2 as a OWE when flying with CX I have always been greeted and welcomed aboard by name (irrespective of class of travel), offered J class bubbles when in Y and even offered a J class meal on one occassion!!

Yes that is one downside, but, one I can live with as the status credit earn will be higher and that counts more to maintaining WP1 status than the points I'll be missing out on.

Yes! Do it regularly to get to family in QLD and WA. Thankfully there's no festive frivolity on QF, its all business as usual - which I much prefer - although on one occasion the CSM wished me a Merry Christmas when he came to do his meet'n'greet on a SYD-PER flight.
